Strengths:
Was most comfortable for my price range at the time. Crashed after four years of service and worked perfectly.
Weaknesses:
Over time, I found the Brain Trust retention system didn't work well for me. Most likely, I found it a little lose because it was a large helmet and I should've bought a medium.

Bottom Line:
This helmet saved my life a couple weeks ago. Despite my dislike of the Brain Trust retention, it stayed in place when I crashed my road bike in a 20 MPH turn. The helmet fractured all the way through in multiple places as my head impacted the asphalt on the right side. I remained conscious and didn't receive any head trauma. Had I not been wearing it, I'm sure I'd be missing a sigifigant amount of scalp and my right ear. In the end, it was $60 well spent and I'll gladly buy another Specialized helmet. Although updated Tellurides, with the Pro Fit rentention, are still available these days, I think I'm going to go for an Aurora or Decibel this time around.

Strengths:
Durable, well balanced, comfortable and very well vented. The system was very easy to adjust to fit and was a no brainer to get set up for me. I found that the flat, non flash colours were pretty good, but for those who have an interest in brighter bucket colours Specialized has got them covered.
Weaknesses:
Sometimes the base of the fit system at the back would rub against the back of my neck. It wasn't really a big problem, I just knew it was there.

Bottom Line:
I had the Specialized Telluride Helmet for just eight months before she gave her life to save mine. It happened in an endo situation where I landed directly on the front of the lid with all 240lbs of me going over the bars at a pretty nasty clip. The helmet foam was fractured in several places under the plastic shell, which was still pretty much intact. The straps did not dig in and rested quite well leaving no bruises or marks on my neck or around my ears. In fact the only marks left from the helmet were the bruises and minor abrasion on my forehead where the helmet had broken. The force of the impact would have done me in, I'm quite sure, yet the helmet lessened that to the degree where I simply bounced off the ground and went straight into the checklist. I was so impressed with the performance of the helmet in the ride and the crash that I am going to get another one as soon as I get my Crash Replacement coupon (or whatever) from Specialized.

Strengths:
This helmet is the shizn!t. It fits so well that if you molded my head and then made a helmet out of it, it would be just like this one. It protects so well and covers every important lobe of the brain. Invest in something that works and FITS WELL. Because of the nature of our sport, you should take care of what's most important: your brain.
Weaknesses:
None whatsoever. It may not fit well for you, but for at least some, it will fit like a dream, way better than any Bell or Giro.

Bottom Line:

this helmet kicks ass. it looks sweet and it has a molded shell. it is light and comfortable. this thing has it all. no matter how fast your going, it has enough air scoops to cool you down.
Weaknesses:
im not sure how much i like the weird slope at the front. but when the visor is on, it looks sweet.
