Favorite Trail:Sanur Bali
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:Some store
Strengths:Cheap, reliable, nice looking
Weaknesses:Uncomfortable, heavy, the head strap easily comes off. Internal padding comes off after 6 month of riding
Similar Products Used:661 Dirtlid, Fox Flux
Bike Setup:2009 Specialized Hardrock Pro With XT and XTR mods
Bottom Line:Much better than those United Helmet where I come from. Just a few bucks added and you can have this helmet. Although The padding that comes off can be quite uncomfortable. But you got what you paid for

Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $39.00
Purchased At:Can't remember
Strengths:Price, comfort, great protection, looks and quality.
Weaknesses:None
Similar Products Used:Bell Ghisallo
Bike Setup:Stumpjumper FSR
Bottom Line:Excellent protection good fit, light, visor and nice ventilation. Plus the helmet looks good.

Took a very hard head-first fall on pavement. People a block away heard the crack when the helmet hit the ground. My wife thought I was dead. I have no doubt this helmet saved me from serious injury and possibly death. Other than some bad road rash and bruises my head was intact. Surprisingly the only damage to the helmet was some scraping.

Replaced the helmet with another Bravo XC. Definitely recommend.

Bike Setup:trek 4300

Bottom Line:i would not recommend buying this helmet
not worth it for the price.
(i would definately recommend the giro monza. got it for $50 on sale at nashbar)

if you have a different shaped head it might fit alright.
but even if it does fit it is not durable.

Strengths:Fit, Weight, Comfort, Colors, Durability
Weaknesses:Maybe the fit system....not so sure though...may lack a lil durability
Similar Products Used:Many Giro and Bell helmets

Bottom Line:For the money...you can't beat it! Not the most comfortable out there, but it is an incredible value. The fit is customizable and ensures that your lid doesn't going rolling along without you. I have no doubt that this one will stay on when I come close to dying.

Favorite Trail:??
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $60.00
Purchased At:Pricepoint
Strengths:Light weight, good protection
Weaknesses:Fit was a little small for my head (Size XL helmet), base of rear strap caused a little discomfort if helmet was on too tight.
Similar Products Used:Trek Vapor 3
Bike Setup:'98 Fisher Tassajara, now with XTR components and Manitou Minute 1:00 fork, Bontrager Race TL wheels
Bottom Line:I bought this helmet to replace my aging Trek lid. It fit a little snug, especially at the back, where the plastic adjustable section connects to the helmet. I got used to it after the first couple rides, and it got to the point where it fit just about right. Its light weight, and vents well (so well that my head was COLD when riding early this spring). It also protects well, as my head can attest to after crashing yesterday.
The only downside I see to it is that little plastic piece in the back that would put pressure on my head if the helmet wasn't slightly loose
I'm now in the market for a new helmet, and I will definitely consider another 661 helmet.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Umm... looks kind of tuff (big)
Weaknesses:Turn lock strap for the back of your head is deceptively useless and dangerous
Similar Products Used:a couple of Bells
Bike Setup:which one?
Bottom Line:The Turn Lock (I think that's what they call it; the dial that tightens the strap that cups the back of your skull) mechanism has SOFT plastic teeth that are held in place by a little plastic rod. I literaly pulled the thing out of the box, put it on my head, and turned the knob to the tightness that I have used on every other helmet I have every used with this type of strap (3, but they all had a ratchet that was like the teeth on a cable tie), when the geared teeth sheared off. If I had gotten in a typical (for me) crash, the teeth most likely would have sheared, letting the helmet slip back and form a nice little handle for the ground to snap my neck with. I got this helmet with out trying it on. I thought Sixsixone was most likely a good company, and would have a good product. I never will make this mistake again.

Favorite Trail:The earth
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:Greenfish (online)
Strengths:Price, 24 cooling vents, adjustable (via velcro) pads on front, side and rear, light weight, comfort.
Weaknesses:None that I can see. If I had to complain about something I would say the visor isn't long enough, but I just wear sunglasses so its really a non-issue.
Similar Products Used:Dirt bike helmets.
Bike Setup:Box stock Raleight M80.
Bottom Line:I wore this helmet for the first time today on a 11 mile mixed road/dirt ride. I thought it would drive me up the wall at first. I put it on before I unloaded my bike and by the time my bike was out of the truck, I didn't even realize I had an helmet on until I went to put my sunglasses on and caught the strap. Very comfortable once adjusted. Fits extremely well. Keeps my head very cool. I'm very pleased with the helmet. I am using an '05 model by the way.

Date Reviewed: August 24, 2004
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $60.00
Purchased At:PRICEPOINT
Strengths:Extremely lightweight, very well ventilated, rear adjustment knob let's you tighten helmet so it doesn't bobble. Inexpensive compared to similar helmets by other manufacturers. Meets all safety standards, that's a +
Weaknesses:Visor is too small, other than that, none
Similar Products Used:Giro, Specialized
Bike Setup:FSR, atomlab, Rhynolite XL's, Shermans, Titec, Avid sd7's and discs, XT
Bottom Line:I hate wearing a helmet, but my fiancee requires me to wear one now. I picked this helmet because it was well ventilated and light. Even though it isn't P.C., I don't use the chinstrap(?), I just pop it on, tighten the back adjustor knob and hit the jumps and drops. No bobbles and it doesn't come off. After awhile I forget that I am wearing it, which is exactly what I wanted. Eventually I need to get a fullface for the bigger things that I have been known to do, but for small to medium thrashing, the Bravo XC works extremely well. I guess that it looks pretty cool too, but I beleive in function before fashion, and it functions as well as I had ever hoped that it would. If I didn't mention it before, I live in So. Fla. where it is hotter than hell, and this helmet has incredible ventilation. Enough said!!!

Bottom Line:I've ridden about 20 hours with this helmet so far and I couldn't be happier. The helmet has great adjustability which makes it very comfy. It's super stable in the rough stuff. It's a great value, even at MSRP.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $55.00
Purchased At:Jenson USA
Strengths:Excellent quality, great price for quality, superior fit, very adjustable, looks great, and I like the adjuster at the back of the helmet.
Weaknesses:If I were to be picky, I'd like to have a longer and bigger sun visor and a better strap design at the back of the helmet. Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with the helmet.
Similar Products Used:Mostly Specialized, Giro, and Bell helmets.
Bike Setup:2003 Supergo Access XCL with 185mm Avid mechanicals.
Bottom Line:A superior helmet at a great price. The Bravo XC is well worth the money and is my new favorite helmet. The quality is top notch. I like it better than my Specialized S1 and it's half the price.
