Strengths: Light, durable, good vent
Weaknesses: none
Bottom Line:
Great, two times saved my life by really wild crash. Ones was on crash replacement for 50% cost. It was after night crash with iron crossbar in forest :-)
This skidlid looks the part, extremely cheap in comparison to other helmets of this quality. You can tell the R&D and thought thats gone into it, 4 point connection for the visor, 30 vents (gets a bit chilly in the uk though), the retention system is the best aspect, theres a strap going all the way round the inside of the helmet that tightens as you push the clips tighter, keeping the helmet securely fitted to your bonce. Its also one of the lightest helmets on the market (yep, anorak me weighed a few). Seriously, don't even think twice, just size it and hand over your hard-earned.

Strengths: Excellent ventilation, proven skull-saver, looks cooler than competitors due to lower, flatter top profile. Great visor sits at just the right level above the eyes.
Weaknesses: I take a large MET Parrabellum, but a medium in most other helmets. Maybe I have a strange egg, but try it on before you buy!
Bottom Line:
I tested this helmet after getting a bit too much air off a jump on a downhill section. Landed head-first on my MET Parrabellum. Xrays confirm no fractures to skull or spine(although plenty of bruising elsewhere). Helmet is still intact although a bit dented. Visor also intact. Therefore I can vouch for this helmet's effectiveness in its primary role (saving your skull). It is also the best ventilated MTB helmet on the market, which is the main reason I bought it (I ride in HOT tropical conditions where brain temp is a crucial factor). If you need a cooler head, get one of these. Design of forhead padding also reduces the amount of sweat that gets in your eyes. Adjustable fit system ensures a firm, comfortable, no-wobble fit.

Strengths: Good looks, light weight, good fit.
Weaknesses: Foam inserts fall apart. Expensive.
Bottom Line:
This helmet is awesome, if a little expensive. The only problem encountered was with the padded foam inserts that stick to the velcro. If you sweat a bit, these will disintergrate within 6 months.
Strengths: extremly lite, tons of vents, fits like a glove, best u can get
Weaknesses: everything cost so much in new zealand!!
Bottom Line:
after using my trusty giro for 10 or so years i fel in love with this blood bucket after 10 mins up my first climb. more hot air leaves you than u think u had!

Strengths: VERY Breezy Looks awesome - helmets look dorky, but this one makes you want to wear it. Great Colours Perfect Fit
Weaknesses: none so far
Bottom Line:
I love this helmet. Looks awesome, and feels so breezy and fits so well that it makes you WANT to wear it.
I've been road riding for over 10 years, and have never worn a helmet before. The helmets I've tried were clunky and hot and just plain irritating. The MET Parabellum however, is just sweet - plain and simple.
I'd get a Stradivarius if it had a visor - the only way that you can get a better helmet than a Parabellum is to get another MET - the Stradivarius, just too bad it doesn't have a visor.
I give it a perfect score, coz it made me a believer.

Strengths: 1. Good looks 2. Feels strong and secure 3. Not too heavy 4. Decent ventilation 5. Price (I got it for £39.99 - I think they priced it incorrectly) 6. Take the visor off and I can use it with my road bike
Weaknesses: 1. Has quite a large profile (looks wide from the front) 2. Chin strap seems to re-adjust itself betfore every ride (unless it's my girlfriend messing with it for a laugh)
Bottom Line:
Nice functional helmet (esspecially at the price I paid). As I said above, can be used on the road as well (saving me some serious money as I do both MTBing and road-riding).
Ventilation is much better than the Scudo etc (but then again what do you expect for the extra money).
The MET retention system is good and easy/quick to use/adjust.
Strengths: Ventilation, Weight and ease of adjustment.
Weaknesses: The pads are very creative, I would hate to track down some new ones.
Bottom Line:
I enjoy this helmet (particularly coming from a warm climate). I am nor certain how all those vents would help in a cold climate - Perhaps rub axle grease into your noggin?

Strengths: Quality finish with the exterior plastic moulded to the shell. V Good ventillation. Good fit with a really nice adjustment system and comfy straps
Weaknesses: Price. I paid $150.00 Aussie (But you get what you pay for) Not many spare pads with the helmet
Bottom Line:
I think that MET did a big overhaul on this helmet for 2000. I like this Helmet. As soon as I put it on it felt like a good fit and I didn't have to play around with it much. It has a great adjustment system that is easy to alter. There is a band that goes all the way around your head that is tightned by the rear adjustment straps. It pretty much guarantees a good fit (Unless you have a cone head) The straps are nice a well. All in all a much better helmet than my 98 Bell Image Pro (Replaced on age and stench grounds). Kudos to Bell though as one of their helmets saved me from being a vegetable. Someone has put a lot of thought into this MET helmet and it shows.

Strengths: Ultimate air flow and good adjustablity, full moulded shell which gives a very long life
Weaknesses: Price and small fiddily straps
Bottom Line:
The ultimate in quality helmets whigh gives excelent life and air flow which is ideal for cross country racing in hot to warm conditions. The only down side is the price at approx £80, $130 but ypu real do get what you pay for. A helmet that not only looks cool but keeps you cool!
