Submitted by Barry King a Cross Country Rider from Victoria, Australia
Date Reviewed: August 13, 2006
Favorite Trail:riverside trail
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:light, well ventilated, smaller fit, comfortable, looks cool and like it should cost a lot more cos its actually pretty cheap
Weaknesses:big air vent in centre on top can make it a little difficult to mount some lighting systems
Similar Products Used:Met Tephro (roadie style - looks dumb on me but good otherwise), Giro Torero, Adura Prelude
Bike Setup:Raceline Comp - LX, XT groupset, Hayes HFX9's, Mavic X223 rims, Marzocchi EXR air forks, Token carbon fibre flat bars, Easton stem and seatpost
Bottom Line:Pretty sweet helmet, absolutely no real weaknesses. Pumped that I finally found a helmet that doesn't look ridiculous on my small head.

The light mounting issue is probably only due to my dodgy homemade setup anyway.

Date Reviewed: July 24, 2006
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $22.00
Purchased At:Cycles UK
Strengths:Compact, light, affordable, good cooling
Weaknesses:May be a little on the small side for some...
Bottom Line:Only used this a couple of times, but suprised by how well the vents work to cool your bonce. Haven't crash tested it yet, so can't comment on strength, but it's a met so should be good.

It's also comfy and doesn't make you look like a spaceball. At fifteen pounds (UK) it can't be beat - a quality piece of kit! Buy one today...

Date Reviewed: June 26, 2004
Favorite Trail:anywhere
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $26.00
Purchased At:halfords
Strengths:light weight, nice shape doesn't look like to mushroomy on your head.
Weaknesses:could do with more vents but perfectly acceptable for the price.
Bike Setup:04 mountvision with xt spd's and easton ea70 flat bars
Bottom Line:a pucker lid for the money, nice shape and fit. stylish and light, once adjusted for proper fit you will have no complaints. why pay £100 for some other lid when this is exactly the same for a third of the price.

Submitted by Jonathan 'jonowee' Wee a Weekend Warrior from Perth, WA, Australia
Date Reviewed: April 7, 2004
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:A$79.95 at TBE Willetton
Strengths:- In-moulding
- Safe-T lite fitting system, firm fit
- better visibility than my old helmet and this has a visor.
- vents that actually work!
- great value- in-moulding, locking fit system
- neat, graphics, nothing overwhelming
- reflective sticker on the back of helmet
Weaknesses:- rachating Safe-T is pretty much guess work when securing the helmet, so use your thumb as a gauge. This is a 'sport' level helmet, so no linear pull adjusters.
- straps take a while to get initial fit when you just got the helmet, but that happens with all helmets.
- Strange, no side vents but it doesn't affect venting.

The above weakness are nothing, this is a very good helmet.
Similar Products Used:V-22 Raptor (no brand generic helmet, cooks brains even in winter)
Bottom Line:Very good helmet for the price. As a first helmet it's highly recommended from me, better value the GIRO or BELL.

Purchased At:Melbourne Bike Centre
Strengths:This is no question the best helmet I know of, it looks good (even on your head), lite, nice colours, comfy, good warrantee and return policy, removable viza, in-moulding, plenty of "speed holes" to keep you cool, great fitting system, great value, great all round helmet I would recommend to anybody.
Weaknesses:None at all.
Similar Products Used:Adura Acent.
Bike Setup:Giant Rincon with carbon-fiber bars and other cool stuff.
Bottom Line:Great helmet, suits anybody. %110 worth the money.

Similar Products Used:Netti SP-f
Bike Setup:2004 GT Avalanche 2.0

Submitted by Jimmy Chan a Cross Country Rider from South Coogee, New South Wales, Australia
Date Reviewed: September 30, 2002
Favorite Trail:The Oaks Fire Trail
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:Inner City Cycles
Strengths:Good looking helmet that doesn't give the familiar "boofy" appearance. It is slimline due to its shallow depth. Nice colours too!
Weaknesses:Haven't found any!
Similar Products Used:Bell Image Pro, Nemesis II and Aquila.
Bike Setup:Cannondale F900 Lefty with Deore gear.
Bottom Line:A good helmet at a good price. As yet I haven't found another helmet with slim and compact features. The straps are easy to adjust & the retention system is tops. The air flow through the vents is just as good as the $200 models. The visor has a compact design that does not obstruct the riders view too badly.....other helmets are worse! For anyone who hates the "boofy" look, this is the way to go.

Looks
Weaknesses:lack of vents
Hard to Adjust
Similar Products Used:Met Parabellum
Bike Setup:GT XCR 4000, Full XT, Mavic X618 Rims, Panaracer Tyres, PlanetX Seatpost, Viscount VRT Saddle
Bottom Line:Good helemt, my wife has it now as I've got a Parabellum instead. Too hot in Summer due to lack of vents, but great in Winter. Can be hard to adjust, but you only do this once, so I can live with that.

Submitted by Chris a Weekend Warrior from Kent, England
Date Reviewed: September 14, 2000
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $60.00
Purchased At:Halfords
Strengths:Looks great, comes in some really cool colours which compliment the shape of the helemt nicely. The vents really do keep you cool which is important on hot days.
Weaknesses:None that i have found
Bike Setup:Trek 6000 rigid, Lx rear mech, Deore front mech, Deore brake set, bontrager hubs and tires,
Bottom Line:If you want a stylish helmet, for a resonably low price then this helmet is the one for you. If you're a more serious rider then you may wish to choose something a bit more expensive.

Date Reviewed: June 23, 1999
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Bottom Line:This helmet is a good looking helmet for the price. It isn't taped at the seam, it is bonded. It has some good color schemes too- no cheesy designs- just stripes. It is very comfortable, and comes with a visor and a good retention system. I found this helmet in England when I was there and I haven't seen them in the U.S. -- By the way, England's mountain bike mags are way better than the U.S.'s.
