Strengths:    An excellent, comfortable fit. Good looking lines. Adequate ventilation for warm weather, but perfect for cool weather biking I do in Colorado mountains. The stapping system with the various locking mechanisms work well and are easy to use. The visor keeps the sun out of my eyes. When I did my own version of impact resistance testing at home the Pro-Am V performed much better than my old helmet. I definitely feel safer with the Pro-Am.

Weaknesses:    Considering the price I don't find any. I tried on some of the more expensive models at the bike shop but the Pro-Am V was the best fit, and I did not need the extra bells and whistles.

    Bottom Line:
Great comfort and quality for a reasonable price. I am very pleased.

Why am I the only person that wears a Pro-tec helmet?

Why don't people use BMX style helmets? They fit a lot tighter and just feel safer than futuristic ultralight giro helmets. A top end BMX stlye helmet is also $40.   Read More »
