Submitted by OregonMTB a Weekend Warrior from US
Date Reviewed: March 24, 2003
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $49.00
Purchased At:Performance
Strengths:Light weight--VERY COOL--as in not hot.
Weaknesses:No rock lock or anything like that. It moves around on my head when I wear a helmet-mount light.
Bottom Line:Great racing helmet and for those of us that ride in hot climates!

Submitted by Steve a Weekend Warrior from Central CA
Date Reviewed: July 13, 2001
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:Performance
Strengths:Fit, ventilation, weight
Weaknesses:None so far
Similar Products Used:Giro, Specialized, Bell, Trek
Bike Setup:Classic lugged steel roadie
Bottom Line:Last two helmets bit the dust prematurely, IMO--Trek delaminated so that the straps did not keep the helmet centered on the head, Bell Vita Pro's straps started to fray (they also needed constant adjustment), and besides that the front lip was too low on the head; it blocked my forward vision when down on the drops of the handlebars.

The Globe was a revelation: perfect fit right out of the box, no forward vision problem, easy strap adjustment, and so light weight it's like you're not wearing a helmet at all. The ventilation is great, too--you can really feel the breeze coming through the vents!

That Louis Garneau can turn out such a great product for 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the high-end brain buckets makes it all the better. A full 5 chilies in both categories.

Date Reviewed: March 21, 2001
Favorite Trail:Sutherland Beach
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:LCB
Strengths:Looks, fit, comfort.
Weaknesses:Haven't found any.
Similar Products Used:Older Louis Garneau. Tested other helmets priced in the same range.
Bike Setup:Just bought a 2001 Kona Nunu. Will review after I have owned it for a while. Before this bike, I had a '93 Trek 830.
Bottom Line:I've had this helmet for almost a year now, and I have found it to fit very nice. The spiderlock on the back of the helmet ensures that it will stay tight on my head. The look of the helmet is pretty cool as well.

Bottom line ... I love this helmet.

Submitted by Scot a Racer from Westchester, New York
Date Reviewed: April 23, 2000
Favorite Trail:Canaan, West Virginia
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Excellent Value & Fit w/comprable safety specs
Weaknesses:None apparent
Similar Products Used:All High level Bell and Giro
Bike Setup:99' Intense Tracer w/Zoke Z2 Atom 80
Bottom Line:Used and tried all high level helmets from Bell & Giro, only problem is that those helmets after prolonged use the retention units tend to delaminate causing the helmet to shift around. This causing a very frustrating situation when riding off-road. I originally got the idea to purchase this helmet after seeing a review in "Consumer Reports" which rated this very high for Safety and Fit. Believe me this company has done there homework and needs more respect from the cycling community...for the price you cannot beat it, not that you should ever skimp when it comes to your head.

Submitted by Darren Shafer a Weekend Warrior from Leavenworth, KS
Date Reviewed: August 13, 1999
Favorite Trail:
The Levee, Lawrence, KS
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
Great looks, light weight, excellent fit adjustable everywhere and meets or exceeds every standard out there.
Weaknesses:
None. Although, for $49, it should have come with a visor. But Louis will sell you one for a mere $14...
Similar Products Used:
GT, Specialized
Bike Setup:
Gary Fisher
Bottom Line:This helmet is superb. Adjustability, looks, safety, bang for your buck. What more can you ask for? (It's not another typical name brand like Trek, GT, Bell, Giro, etc...)
Overall Rating:5
