Strengths:    Price, weight, coverage, ventalation

Weaknesses:    strap system

Bottom Line:
The Section is a light, well made helmut that is more than confortable to wear on the trail. I've worn it weekly for over a month and can say most times I forget to take it off while strapping the bikes back on the racks at the trail heads. It give ample coverage around the back of the head while maintaining good ventalation; I've yet to get uncomfortably hot wearing it.

The only thing I'd say could be improved would be the strap system; they lack flexability at the attachment points on the helmut. It's not so bad that I'd knock down the rating so it's not a deal breaker but could be improved.

If you're looking for a good, comfortable helmut but dont quite need a full face, you wont regret this purchase.

Strengths:    *styling graphics
*fits my cranium. I tried out the Giro Flak, and this one fit much better.

Weaknesses:    Most stores want around $55.00 for this helmet. xsportsprotective.com had it for $35.00. Can't beat that value.

Bottom Line:
A much better helmet than the Flak, hands down.

Hey all, looking for a newbie section. Wanting opinions on getting an upgraded bike and looking for advice. Where should I go? Pre ride a section of the TS100 this Sunday anyone?

Early AM start in Foresthill, ride up pavement to Robinson Flat, ride WST back to Foresthill. It hits the toughest part of the TS100 as a preview for the race. Its about 60 miles with half dirt have pavement, so not too difficult. No traffic out there either so the pavement section is fun with outst ... Read More »

Shimano freehub questions (x-post from Wheel and Tires section)

I posted this in the wheel and tire section but haven't gotten any responses, I suspect maybe because this is a low end budget wheelset and not a fancy mountain bike wheelset: I have a set of wheels I picked up at the REI Garage Sale for $50. I've put around 3500 miles on them commuting. Starting ... Read More »
