With a combination of style, fit and comfort, the Bell Faction Downhill and BMX Bike Helmet features a skate-helmet-inspired design. This downhill and BMX-bike helmet is constructed of an ABS hard-plastic shell with a dual-density EPS liner, and includes 12 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and warm air out. The Faction helmet comes in three sizes: small (51-56cm), medium (54-59cm), and large (58-63cm). Bell's Faction helmet weighs 426 grams, and is both CPSC bicycle safety-standard certified and ASTM 1492 skate certified.
Strengths: Comes with three different size of foam inserts, strapes ajust well to fit your head. helmet has a safty rating for both cycling and skatting. It also does well on protecting they back portion of your skull.
Weaknesses: It is a little heavyer then a lot of others but not realy noticiable ocne you start wearing it. No visior but thats not realy a weakness I don't care for those velcro duck bills anyway. Just go to the local motorcycle store and buy a short snap-on one and three little wood srcews and there you go.
Bottom Line:
I've been waearing these helmets for over four years and they have save my bacon more then once.
The most serious time was when I was going to the store to get some stuff to cook breakfast. Well on the way in front of this church there are these 3 metal poles that have no parking signs on them and there like stuck about 2 foot back from the curb, well it's 6:00 am and still dark I had my niterider minewt on my helmet. I made it past the 1st one and I thought someone was comming up on my left side when I glanced to make sure no one was there I smack the second one on almost dead head on. WELL let me tell you a 3" metal post sunk in 3' foot of concret doesn't move at all! The helmet cracked almost in half in 2 places when my head hit the side walk, the high densityfoam was even cracked. For $20.00 on sell at Jenson USA best money I have ever spent Will gladly pay full price $40.00 if I can't find it on sale again. Bell knows their stuff! It save from a very bad head injury.
