Date Reviewed: June 11, 2007
Favorite Trail:Trail? What's a trail? Oh, THOSE...
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $29.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Ventilation, protection
Weaknesses:Made my hands numb within half an hour
Similar Products Used:some old Schwinn gloves that needed retirement
Bike Setup:'06 Cannondale Bad Boy, OEM grips
Bottom Line:I wanted to like these, but on my first ride with them (this morning, in fact), I was periodically shaking out my hands to regain some feeling. It was bad enough that I couldn't feel my thumb against the shift lever.

The BG outboard pad, which supposedly helps keep pressure away from the nerve underneath, has the opposite effect, IMO. It doesn't make sense to put a lump underneath the part of my hand that should receive less pressure; I really don't understand why so many gloves are built this way. Instead, make a system of padding that supports my hand elsewhere. Maybe I should wrap my handlebars in Silly Putty and see what shape results.

Get these if you sweat; don't expect these (or very many other gloves) to help on long rides. One ride, and I'm very disappointed. I wish I could have demoed them first.

Favorite Trail:currently. . . Walnut Creek
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:Comfort, fit, ventilation, looks, DURABILITY!
Weaknesses:None
Similar Products Used:Axo Descend, Fox gloves, Specialized BLOB, others
Bike Setup:2000 Stumpy, XT/XTR, X-Fly 80.
Bottom Line:I tell ya, I've been wearing these things for about 2500 miles, and washing and machine drying them regularly and they still look great. I've had lots of pairs of gloves that just wear right through in a third of that time. They'll probably keep going for another year or two. They fit well enough that they never leave lines on my hands like other gloves do--while still fitting snugly. They are also very well ventilated. Very solid product.
