Looks-big red 'S', fairly warm, good padding, Specialized Customer Service.
Weaknesses:
They fell apart after less than a month. The tips of my fingers get cold. They were too expensive.

Bottom Line:
I was disappointed, because like everything else here in Japan, they were expensive. Specialized did send me another pair, however. Still, my finger tips get cold and they aren't waterproof. I bought a pair of snowboarding gloves on sale for $30. They are waterproof / windproof, though a bit bulky. I have a new pair of Spec. gloves, so i'll keep them for days when it doesn't snow, or when I just want to look cool.RATING- 1 chilli for looks, 1 chilli for the semi-warmth, 1 chilli for the padding, 1chilli for customer service. Because Specialized was good to me, I'll only deduct one chilli due to the first pair coming apart.

Before I ever had chance to ride with theses gloves I used them to work on my car in sub-freezing teperatures. Now this was no small job; these gloves had 1/2" and 3/4" drive ratchets digging into the palms for over 10 hours of serious wrench-turning. They were exposed to oil, grease, extreme heat from torching stubborn bolts, and plenty of force that I'm sure they were not design to withstand and although there are some stains that probably be there forever these gloves held up like steel. I thought for sure that they'd be trashed after a couple of hours. As far as keeping my hands warm, they did just fine considering that I did not have an elevated heart rate to aid in keeping me warm. Five flamin' doodies for withstanding the equivalent of ten years riding wear and tear in a few days. And by the way, the gloves contoured my fingers well enough to pull cigarettes out of a pack and smoke.

These are somewhat expensive until you compare the price to what I paid for my ride. Many different fabrics used including thinsulate insulation. I really like these gloves.

Strengths:
Good padding, comfy and warm, great flexibility and superb grip (even when wet).
Weaknesses:
Very minor point - The fastening strap could be a bit more comfortable.

Bottom Line:
Great glove for riding in autumn/winter weather. Body geometry padding is great - no numbness. Warm as toast, but easily flexible enough for those sudden emergency braking maneuvers! Also padded areas on the top are well placed to prevent cuts and grazes. The red ones are as bright as the sun!
Probably not hardcore enough for SEVERELY cold conditions and not fully waterproof either (they're still warm when wet though).
Could also be cheaper...
