Date Reviewed: September 6, 2007

Strengths:    No wear on the index or thumb from shifting and braking. comfortable

Weaknesses:    stretchy material on the middle finger wore through after two months. after I started feeling a breeze I noticed the material was very thin on the tips.

Bottom Line:
I'll go back to using my Fox gloves with three years of wear and still in good condition.

Strengths:    good fit, secure, comfy, snot rag

Weaknesses:    crappy stitching, easy to destroy!

Bottom Line:
first pair didn't last for 2 rides...had to return them as the stitching in the fingertip and knuckles shredded (no falls). i got a new pair just as i got my new bike.

apparently the xt dual control levers are thin compared to the xtr and lx. i put holes in my fingertips on both hands! oh yeah, my stitch problems also continued.

you may say that's what i deserve for using the man's worthless design (shimano). point taken. however, at $35, i expect more. i have used sailing gloves that work 10x better. bottom line, they suck. i picked up a pair of fox digit gloves for $20. they have lasted almost a year and have survived snow, wrecks, and extreme heat (accidentally left them on the car for a while in the sun (az!).

save your money. go buy some fox, kona, or 661 gloves. buy something else w/ the money you'll save.

Strengths:    tough ....the original pair i had lasted two years with almost no wear and that was riding ever day ...

Weaknesses:    ugly ...
the color schemes are loud ...

Bottom Line:
i had a pair of these previously and loved them ...this pair did split at the seems on the right knuckle and i had to warenty another pair that split at the palms ...
but the pair i had before all that never showed any signs of wear i had to replace them because i lost one glove ...
i love these gloves they are the best for xc
i will probably get a pair of the fortres gloves next for a little more protection though

Date Reviewed: July 6, 2002

Strengths:    Comfortable...look nice...pretty good ventilation for a full finger glove...um...they have reflecting strips so cars can see your hands?...it's a glove what else matters?

Weaknesses:    Hands get kinda hot in summer, but there's a short finger version if that's a problem. Also a little expensive, but I think it's worth it.

Bottom Line:
If you suffer from numbness in your pinky and ring fingers during and after rides I highly recommend these gloves. Although the padding seems awkward I believe the research done by the geniuses at Specialized truly works. I forgot to wear my gloves on a 20 mile ride and my hands were numb and sore, then today I rode 45 miles with them and my hands feel fine, the only soreness is what's left from the other day when I forgot. Buy these gloves or a pair of Specialized's other Body geometry gloves if you have problems with numbing around your pinky fingers and ring fingers, you won't regret it.

Strengths:    Durability and fit

Weaknesses:    Ergonomics

Bottom Line:
Specialized touts these gloves as ergonomically and anatomically correct; however, for me these gloves seem to aggravate my hand pain. The single pad located on the outer outside of the palm results in an unnatural grip (for me at least). The area of my hand where the pad is located now suffers from a dull ache whenever I use the gloves. I've since switched to a different pair that are more evenly padded on the palm. I don't recommend these gloves.

Strengths:    Very comfortable. Look good, not too flash. Been washed lots and they still fit nice.

Weaknesses:    The price: £29.99 sterling. Not sure if the special pad works.

Bottom Line:
I had to think twice about the price, but I am glad I bought them. I wear these gloves come rain or shine. On the road or in the mud i recommend these gloves.

Strengths:    Good protection, durable

Weaknesses:    causes calluses on hands

Bottom Line:
After my AXO's wore out, I bought these as a replacement. In all my years of riding, I've never had so many problems with calluses & blisters on my palms as I have now. These gloves seem to wear quite well, wash well and feel fine until the weather gets very hot then my hands get four neatly spaced blisters/calluses on each palm. I'm going back to the AXO's.

Strengths:    Too many to list.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
I love these gloves. I had a pair of trek gel gloves that made my hands go numb after a half hour or so, making me switch to these. I absolutley love them. I ended up buying a second pair in case I wore my first ones out and could not find them in stores. I wear them year-round, except in the coldest weather and never have a problem. Buy these!!!
