Strengths:    Very light, comfortable, very breathable, good looking

Weaknesses:    Terrible construction and materials

Bottom Line:
Great in every regard other than construction and materials. They literally fell apart at the seams after 4hrs of hard xc riding. Called for warranty and sent pics. 661 said my size was too small....though they seemed to fit fine, albeit tight. Even if size was the problem, that doesn't explain why the grip material in the palm of the gloves began rubbing off.

The good news is that 661 has been great about replacing them. They sent me a new pair of their 858 glove which I'm anxious to try.

Rockshox Recon Gold TK - Replace Recommended Fork Oil for Synthetic Motor Oil?

Hi guys, Rockshox Recon Gold TK service manual calls for 5w / 15w (oil bath/upper legs). I think I've heard of people replacing them with synthetic motor oil instead. Is that better than/on par with say Maxima Fork Oil? If I get 5W, what would the SAE be? 5W30, 40, 50.... ? Thanks!Read More »

Rockshox XC32 vs Recon Silver

Is the Rockshox XC32 essentially the same as the Recon Silver - other than the fact that the XC32 is potentially heavier (Rockshox website lists the steel steerer weight for the XC32 - assuming to make it look worse)? Reason: There are some cheap XC32's out there with v-brake and disk break moun ... Read More »

Hi Everyone! Couple questions here. I'm a newb so I hope you guys will be gentle with me as I learn this hobby! This is the service interval of Recon forks. 1.) What maintenance procedures are considered "lower servicing?" 2.) It says to perform the maintenance af ... Read More »

Changing 2006 MX Pro for 2013 Recon Gold RL: worth it ?

Hi, I have the possibility of "upgrading" my 2006 Marzocchi MX pro fork to a 2013 Recon Gold RL really cheap. Both are 9mm QR, 120mm travel. The Recon is of course more recent, has got 32mm stanchions (MX Pro 30mm) and is about 250g lighter. I am very satisfied of the MX Pro, and wondered ... Read More »
