Strengths:    Looks, Durability, Fit

Weaknesses:    None with the older gloves.. latest are fairly cheap.

Bottom Line:
Have the original gloves I bought over 8 years ago and they are still going strong. Picked up a few pair from a store in Australia and found the quality to be not as good. These were a great fitting, comfortable glove that stood up to a great deal of abuse. As with a pair of Large Hardwear Max Lite shorts, these things are great when they first come out but after some degree of success, they cheapen these up and the quality goes down. What a shame as a lot of crap that's out there now fits like crap, looks like crap and wear quickly and all for large dollar. I regularly search eBay for some of these items as i'm tired of shelling out big bugs for stuff that just fills up the drawers or ends up on eBay.

Strengths:    Fit, comfort, ventilation, feel on the bars.

Weaknesses:    Durability: Self-destructed after two rides.

Bottom Line:
This review is for the Rambler glove. I got a pair brand new, still with the hang tag, etc., on eBay. On the first ride I was thinking they were far and away the best gloves I'd tried: they were light, cool, fit my hands perfectly, and gave me great control on the grips and shifters. After the second ride, I noticed that two different seams - one on each glove - had blown apart. Nice quality. I went to the mfr web site. They don't have a phone number (always a bad sign). I emailed them but no response. Never again.

Strengths:    Great fit, cool graphics and image, durability, towelling nose-wipe bit, palm heel pad.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
My wife bought me the original speedsters in about 1994 or 1995. I loved them so much that I persuaded my boss at the bike shop to become the UK importer.
I use the Speesters (still!) and have a few pairs of Super Bs. Can't fault them. They're one of those products, like Flite saddles, that you simply never notice when you're riding because they do their job so well.

Strengths:    Very breathable.

Weaknesses:    Stiching came loose on the palms and fingers after a couple of rides. Burned them down with a lighter and haven't had a problem since. Lettering dingy looking (I got the black ones with white letters).

Bottom Line:
This is for the Rockets Parts Spyder gloves.
I was a little dissapointed when I first tried these gloves on, they didn't look near as good on me as they did in the picture(but then what does). They seemed to fit a little loose, but once I grip the handle bars they seem to take form. The lettering and little rocket were dingy looking and still are. After riding in them I have to say I don't have any complaints. They keep my hands cool and they do a good job wiping the sweat from my brow.

Strengths:    Comfort, durability

Weaknesses:    They're not free

Bottom Line:
I have a pair of Rambler's that are over 4 yrs old now. They're faded and thin, but still feel good. I just got a pair of RP Spyders. They're basically an improved version of the Rambler. A little more padding, but still very comfortable. Still the best full finger XC gloves out there.

Strengths:    Comfort, fit, durability, looks

Weaknesses:    er... you don't have an excuse to keep buying new kit?

Bottom Line:
Got my 'SuperB's in 1996 and they've just worn out now, 6 years on! They've survived a huge number of miles, on and off road, commuting, racing and just about anything else on my bikes. They've finally worn out (the tips of the fingers have gone so my fingers are poking out) but they've way out lasted anything else I or anyone else I know has used. My previous gloves from other brands tended to die after a year/year and a half.

Aside from their durability, they git really well, have all the features needed (snot wipe, effective closure flap, pull-on-tab). They're cool in the summer and warm enough for autumn riding or even warmer winter days. They look good too IMO. What more can you ask for?

I've just got a new set of GTOs which also fit really well and so far have been just as faultless.

Strengths:    durability, looks, minimal padding

Weaknesses:    a little pricey when paying full retail

Bottom Line:
My first pair lasted for three years and multiple washes without even a loose stitch. They were looking old so I bought the 2001 version. Both have stood the test of time (so far) but the new pair doesn't fit my fingers as well as the last pair. They seem to have done away with the stitching in the fingers that made them perfectly fit around your knuckles. I've ridden them in hot weather in Moab with no complaints on the temp. I also took a dive on the slickrock and they held up nicely. Bonus is the nosewipe...nice feature!

Strengths:    -Good fit
-No more padding than neccesary
-The mesh back keeps my hands cool

Weaknesses:    -The mesh back keeps my hands too cool sometimes

Bottom Line:
I've got the 2nd generation Rambler with the thin mesh backing. They've lasted through 2 years of fairly constant use now, though they're starting to wear out (I'm getting a few holes in the mesh). They don't offer great endo protection, but they keep my hands feeling good, and are well worth the retail price.

Strengths:    Can endure multiple washings, they look sharp, also in the heat these are great!

Weaknesses:    Protecting your hand from the forces of a crash.

Bottom Line:
These gloves are great for summer riding on pavement, or somewhere the chances of you crashing are slim. While they look sharp and feel o.k, the first time a real crash took place, the mesh fell apart thus leaving my skin between me and the forces of nature. Suffice to say after all the hype on this review, three stitches later my hand is testimony to the gloves weaknesses. Learning my lesson from now on, it's those thickly padded gloves for me, who cares about the heat. Who cares if a glove can stand multiple washings, or keeps your hand cool, if when you need them to do what their suppossed to do they fail.

Date Reviewed: October 12, 2000

Strengths:    -Comfortable
-Durable(I got them in end 1996 and they're still going strong)
-Cool (as in heat sensation)
-Cool (as in looks)

Weaknesses:    - Can't find them anywhere in Singapore anymore!

Bottom Line:
I have a pair of Scary Bs, love love love love love these gloves! It has more than paid back every cent I paid for them. Survived a few crashes, came off unscathed besides a few worn threads. They are so comfy, they fit my fingers as though they were custiom built for my hand, they don't make my hands feel hot, they're so fat free(not chunky) yet offer more than adequate protection and they look so cool!
I'd rue the day when they get spoilt, 'cos no shop in Singapore sells them anymore!

High Fives all round for the ratings!

Weaknesses:    stitching

Bottom Line:
i have a pair of the RPP Ramblers. they fit me perfectly, the padding is in the right places, they have a nice snot blotter, and my hands stay cool. The only problem I have had is that the right thumb stitching came lose.
I want to buy another pair, but I can't find any shops that carry them. Where can I get more?

Bottom Line:
Dammit I LOVe these gloves! I have the old Super-Bs, don't even know when I got them (so long ago). I suspect most of what makes a glove good is the fit and everyone's got different shaped paws. Most glove's fingers are too long and skinny for me. The Super-Bs fit perfectly. True, there's not much padding, but there's enough where you need it and they give excellent control. I've washed'em, crash'em, used'em to wipe snot. They are hands-down the best gloves ever made. I hope the newer models are as good cuz I'm sure these will eventually bite the dust. That will be a sad day.

Strengths:    I have the GTOs and the fit is amazing. Good construction throughout. I've put them through alot and they get better with age. The terry nose wipe is a good feature. And for a full-finger glove, they are not hot or bulky. Very good feel on the handlebars.

Weaknesses:    None.

Bottom Line:
Great gloves.

Nice Padding!

Weaknesses:
I broke some stiches on my GTO, it was my fault

Bottom Line:
I love these gloves even tho they are torn! I use them now on my BMX, they work great. I would get some more GTO's but I'm gonna try some Quance DH gloves because of the wrist cuff. These gloves rock!
