Submitted by Derek K. Miller a Cross Country Rider from Vancouver, BC, Canada
Date Reviewed: January 20, 2002
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $15.00
Purchased At:SportChek, Burnaby, BC
Strengths:Comfortable, flexible fit, snug but not too tight, ventilate pretty well, very soft
Weaknesses:Some loose threads at edges of fingers, sizing somewhat incosnsistent from pair to pair -- try several
Bike Setup:1992 Giant Sedona, set up for city cycle commuting
Bottom Line:The Louis Garneau gloves are among the best reasonably-priced basic warm-weather cycling gloves I've used. The leather and lycra are softer and more flexible than in other brands I've tried, and they seem well built. However, threads at the finger holes do tend to come loose sooner than they probably should. Still, the gloves hold together well, and they served me excellently during three solid months of bike commuting in the city this summer. When the warm weather comes again, they're ready to replace my full-finger gloves for another season. Good value.
