For the Xen glove, the sonic-welded armor is almost hidden in the black upper. There is definitely padding over the knuckles, but it disappears in plain sight; and reappears when your knuckles impact something. You feel the protection, and experience relief. There is also some exoskeletal armor lower on the back of the hand as well. This exoskeleton is integrated with the rest of the look as well. You might not have noticed it the first time around.

Price Paid:
$75.00
Purchased At:
Local Bike Shop
Strengths:
They are a glove
Look Good
Weaknesses:
Seams fall apart
First pair lasted one ride and stitching started giving way on fingers.
Replacement pair lasted 5 rides by which time stitching up sides of fingers on both hands had undone.
Similar Products Used:
Numerous full and half finger gloves
Bike Setup:
Specialized Enduro SL
Bottom Line:
Extremely poor quality.
These are an expensive glove marketed as a trail glove, therefore should be durable.
Stitching along finger seams failed on both pairs after only a few hours use.
Fortunately the shop gave me a full refund - they had the same problem with other pairs of gloves they sold, and are sending their remaining stock back to the supplier due to poor quality.
