Product Description

This highly ventilated full-face helmet is as breezy as many XC helmets, and thanks to its full carbon fiber shell, it's the lightest in its class at just 899 grams. Strengths:    Lightweight, Durable, well ventilated and sleek design.

Weaknesses:    Inner shell came loose but specialied warrantied it.

Bottom Line:
Worth every penny and Specialized stands behind their products. If you bought the carbon then you bought it for bling or color as the regular deviant is just a hair heavier and alot cheaper.

great fit

Weaknesses:    none yet.....

Bottom Line:
Attempted a gnarly downhill section today with a surprise rock garden atround the corner. I almost made it all the way through before flying over the bars and landed face first on the rocks. The helmet took a beating and I walked away fine. Enough said.

Strengths:    Very light weight with adjustable sraps at the back so you can get the best fit. I tried a number of other full face helmets but this one realy does feel like a XC type with good vents and vizibility. Cool colour and design with the carbon mesh flashing through the chin guard plus you can remove the lining for washing. Saved my head twice so far so does it's job. Compared to other helmets it's well priced.

Weaknesses:    The adjustable straps at the rear can be a little catchy on short hair.

Bottom Line:
Great loking helmet thats light breathable and tough. If you are inclined to do a bit of everything from XC to FR and DH but want one helmet then this is it.

Preview: Specialized Deviant II Carbon 2010 (pics inside)

Got my new fullface helmet today, its the Specialized Deviant II Carbon. Specialized made some changes for this helmet for 2010, apparently they took in some of the criticism there was of the original Deviant I, and remade it. This new version has a new chin bar, mouthport and face port design with ... Read More »

Troy Lee Carbon D2 venting & weight vs. Deviant & Pryme?

I've read all the recent threads on the specialized deviant and the pryme helmets as good candidates for all mountain riding. Unfortunately there aren't any bike shops in my area that stock all the helmets I want to try out. Based on what I've read it sounds like the venting is great on these two ... Read More »
