Claimed to be the World's lightest DOT certified helmet, the Kali Shiva also meets the new ASTM downhill standard and CPSC. To our knowledge this is the only helmet to ever do so. What does that mean? There goes the argument over whether a moto helmet or bike helmet is better for downhill use. Now you can both in one. It weighs less than 1,000 grams, which is also lighter than the vast majority of bike-specific lids. Compared to the weight of standard DOT helmets, it's massively less. Pretty impressive.

I'm looking for a guy who used to frequent these boards a looong time ago who went by the handle Shiva. I've got an old email address for him that's not working and i wanted to shoot him an email. Does anyone have Shiva's email?
Thanks.Read More »
I just read the Shiver guide with the trivia about reducing the travel. My goal in reducing the travel is to prevent the tire from hitting the bottom crown. All I need is like 9mm or 10mm. This should be cheaper than buying a drop crown.
