Product Description

Modeled after its V3 motocross helmet, the Fox Racing Rampage DH helmet has a vented fiberglass shell over EPS hard foam, soft cheek pads, a synthetic suede lining, and a double D-ring chinstrap. It isn't lightweight compared to your XC helmet, but you need a little extra when you're dealing with DH diggers.

Date Reviewed: July 20, 2011

Strengths:    Good airflow, great value, and it saved my head on the first day of riding with it

Weaknesses:    It gets very hot when your not moving but I guess it comes with the territory, NOT for xc or am use

Bottom Line:
Great value, and saved my head from a nasty rock garden, this helmet is great dh/fr use but if you plan to do any climbing I recommend the fox flux

Strengths:    I will admit that you feel invincible in this helmet, it is like placing you head in a steal vault.

Weaknesses:    The helmet has very few vents and as a result, ventilates poorly. I ride everything from free riding to downhill riding to cross county. At every break my goggles fog immediately due to the poor air circulation of this helmet. Myself included, I have never seen someone wear this helmet on an uphill climb, even if the climb is relatively short- the helmet is too heavy and too poorly ventilated.

Bottom Line:
For the money the Rampage may be a good purchase, but I would lean towards the comparably priced Giro Remedy after seeing how satisfied my friends were with their Remedy's. Also, this is the only full faced helmet I have ever owned so I have nothing to really compare against it.

Strengths:    Very solid feeling construction. Makes you feel confident descending at full speed.

Weaknesses:    The matte black is super cool looking but you have to be careful when putting it in the back of your car/truck cause it scuffs easily. Just keep it in the soft cloth carrying case to avoid this.

Bottom Line:
This helmet is amazing. It makes you feel invincible. When riding on hot days it does a commendable job at keeping things relatively cool. I feel like I can push my riding to the next level and still be safe. You won't be disappointed if you buy this helmet.

Strengths:    Very nice construction. Has great looks. Feels solid and safe when wearing.

Bottom Line:
After reading reviews on this helmet, I decided to go ahead and purchase it. With the 60 day return policy, it was a no brainer to buy, and return if I did not like it. In the end, I love the helmet. It not only feels good & solid while wearing, but the Silver looks AWESOME! I would highly recommend looking into this product if you are in the market for a full face helmet.

Strengths:    looks so cool and goes well with most goggles it is a very comfortable helmet it is also qauite light alot cheaper than a tld and looks just as good in my opinion

Weaknesses:    not enough air vents under the visor so when going fat your head gets tilted back a bit

Bottom Line:

Strengths:    Wonderful helmet. The ventelation isn't the best but pretty close to it. It protects like no other helmet I have ever tried. I have gone over the handle bars countless times with this helmet, and not once did my head hurt, what so ever.

Weaknesses:    D ring straps are kind of annoying but I heard they star on better so I don't really mind.

Bottom Line:
Wonderful helmet I reccommend it to anyone who likes to do drops, jumps, or anything where you land on your head a lot.

Im currently using large size of troy lee d3, im head circumference is 58mm. I find the large size of d3 is small. On comparison to fox rampage pro. Is the fitting spot on or do I have to purchase 1 size bigger? Also is it really comfortable to wear than D3?Read More »

2014 RedBull Rampage stuff

Pretty awesome stuff. Certain runs were definitely on par with the best of last year (if not better). I think the terrain on the other side had a few more scary tech lines up top, but this one had a lot bigger jumps/gaps. I was pretty surprised at how high Lacondeguy's score was, but he did ride a ... Read More »
