Strengths: plasma forged alloy frame is made from the strongest metals on earth. they fit around your face so well they may as well be anatomy, and when combined with oakleys slash strap they dont bounce around no matter how fast you're being.
Weaknesses: its brand name is oakley.
Bottom Line:
Oakley Juliet brand Performance Eyewear is tailored to a rather peculiar, sparse crowd. that said, quite possibly the most functional eye wear piece ever created, but they make you look SO wierd! like in the way that could come off as bad weird, like a richy boy poser cluster, with theoretical girl-repelling qualities. which is definitely something you DO NOT WANT because scared girls are definitely not better than infatuated girls.

Strengths: This pair has survived 2 motorcycle accidents; nose broken with glasses on one, without breaking in the last. Have been wearing this style for 10 tears & I love them. Still get compliments on their looks.
Weaknesses: Lens scratch easily when they fall off my head, not while wearing but flipped up. I have been thru 5 or 6 sets which started off at $40 but now are...$ way more
Bottom Line:
I LOVE these glasses. I am currently on my 3rd pair (1st lost, 2nd stolen). I can ride at 80+mph without wind incursion into my eyes which says a lot to a motorcyclist. AND they look so frickin' kewl!!!
A bit pricey to purchase and maintain but well worth the $$ if you can afford them.

Strengths: Let us be clear...we LOVE the styling of Oakely's Juliet x-metal sunglasses.
Weaknesses: However, with all of Oakley's high-tech sounding material, one would think their lenses would be tough as nails. Ah... no, sorry, not so.
Bottom Line:
Now that we have used these Oakley Juliet for a while, here are some tips from our experience with the sunglasses:
- Always store them in the pouch when not in use
- Get a hard case if you want to carry them around in a backpack
- EXPECT to replace the lenses as they WILL get scratched
- Scan craigslist for the best prices
These Juliet X-Metal sunglasses have drool-worthy looks, but can be expensive to maintain. So go into this "relationship" with eyes open :-) Unless one carries $100 bills as pocket change, one would have to be mental to pay full prices for these sunglasses and/or lens replacements. We purchased our Oakley Juliet X-Metal on Craigslist for pennies on the dollar. Replacement lenses are available from a variety of sources (Sunglasses shops, Internet, etc...). The least expensive we have found to date were on EBay.

Strengths: Look Great. awesome with Rx lenses. Build quality is top of the line. The metal frame feels like it will never break.
Weaknesses: Frame isn't flexible. If one's head is too big, they pinch.
The price for prescription Juliet's is over $500. This is really pushing it, but you get what you pay for.
Bottom Line:
Great for everyday use. Very durable. Frame is one size and stays that way. Prescription price is over the top, but for regular sunglasses, more reasonable.

Strengths: A very nicely designed and well crafted pair of sunglasses. They look slick and draw a lot of compliments. The glasses are solidly built, I am fond of this plasma line as they are near impossible to scratch, the frame is built near bullet proof. At first I thought these would be heavy sunglasses but was more than pleasantly surprised at how lightweight and comfortable they are. The design holds them firm, but not tight or uncomfortable on the head, these are one of the few sunglasses that I have owned that leaves no dents on my nose after I take them off. The ice polarized lense is far superior to many polarized lenses I have tried, and the hydrophobic lense coating works amazingly well at not only repelling sweat and water, but dust. The lightweight lenses are the perfect compliment to these durable frames.
Weaknesses: I have read the reviews about how easy the lenses scratch and I was debating whether to purchase these glasses based on that information. However, I have owned these for six months, wear them extensively, and have not a single scratch. Use the microfiber bag to clean them after you rinse them off with water and you will have no problems. What's the big deal, how hard is that? Don't complain about scratches if you clean them with dust on the lenses and wipe them with your dirty sleeves. There are no weaknesses to these lenses except what the user imposes on them.
Bottom Line:
These are great glasses if they fit your style and needs. Try a pair on first before you make the purchase, and see if they are right for you. They work great for me.

Strengths: Awesome Design, Very Strong/Durable, Price, options available.
Weaknesses: Easy to scratch (lenses and some frame options), Oakley representatives.
Bottom Line:
Don't complain about price. At $50 (Ebay) to $400 retail for various Juliet models, the price is extremely fair for a pair of Titanium sunglasses. This is especially true when the new line of Oakley Sunglasses, the "Elite", will be priced from the low-end model around $500USD up to the top-end version at $4000+ USD (no joke).
Juliets come in various frame options: X-metal, Carbon, Plasma, Polished, Brown, TiO2, Titanium and have around two-dozen lens options available. It's true that Oakley lenses do scratch easily.. but this is because of the coating that is placed over-top of the lens to give each lens its distinct color. Rule of thumb, if you have a more vibrant lens color, it will be easier to see the imperfections from a distance. As for the frames, if you're worried about frames that scratch easily, stay away from the Brown, Polished, Carbon, Titanium/Plasma Generation 1's, and the X-metals (yes, X-metal is both a frame color choice and the family that the Juliets belong to). This pretty much leaves the Plasma and Titanium colors after the first Generation (which came out in 1998/1999) since they are more of a brushed color, not a matte color. The newer plasmas are virtually a brushed silver - which is attractive - but is the most over-produced color out there.
I've gone 11 years with 2 pairs of Juliets (I actually own over 20 now that I purchased over the last decade) and these things are durable. The only downside that many people with larger faces have is that the bridge can expand due to use, causing a "loose" feeling between the bridge and the connecting optical outlets. The other concern that many have is that the glasses have to be forced over the sides of the head instead of the arms of the glasses doing the labor. This is due to the lack of Springs in the X-metal line (with the Penny being the exception), but this "forcing" actually creates a better grip over the head, and I have yet to have a pair of juliets ever come close to falling off of my head.
Overall, the greatest glasses on the planet... and very versatile!

Strengths: it is made of a super strong metal and fits great around the head. It is especially good for asians because asians have flat noses and it has good nose studs for flat noses
Weaknesses: only weakness is that it hurts to slip it strait on the head, must put it on like a hat
Bottom Line:
i would recommend these glasses to anyone with alot of money. If you are poor forget it because it is only for well to do people. if you are poor go to the dollar store for some shades. These are expensive but well worth it
Weaknesses: Lenses scratch easily. Cente Piece becomes loose and sloopy after 6 months on use, and the glasses become unusable because they just fall off your face!
Bottom Line:
Junk!!
Get the original Fives! Super light and tough, if you sit on them they just break way and you snap em back together!
The Oakley Juliets are simply the best metal-framed sunglasses I have ever worn. Ive owned Raybans all my life and some Oakleys too, but this particular model, the Oakley Juliets, beats them all. Is it durable? Let me tell you what put up with: ran over by a bike, stepped on by a 220-lb man, dropped from second floor apartment patio onto concrete ground, squashed by a closing car door. Today it still bears its original shape with some scratches on its lenses and frames. If you dont call this durable I dont know what is. It's expensive, yes, but worth every dollar (or euro) spent on it.
Strengths: Hergonomics
lens clarity
no optical distortion
interchangeable lens with various filters
Weaknesses: heavy
x-metal version easly sractchable
PRICE!!!!
Bottom Line:
The best sunglasses on earth for sure. The lenses are considered the best and the ergonomics is practically perfect.
Price really too high, but for this optical perfection this kind of money is acceptable.
They are really fragile (and for fragile I mean lens and eventually all frames axcept the plasma one)
I don't think they are ok for sports (or at least for the fasters one) but for the rest they are really a "eyes shade". Nothing better to protect eyes. The look is great: I think these are the last remaining "real" sunglasses by oakley. Their product now are really different (the luxottica bought will bring bad things in my point of view)
At the moment I have two of them: Plasma with ICE iridium and X metal with emerald lenses.
Going to buy also the carbon edition but this time going to try a polarized lens.

Strengths: Hard core strengths. I get hit in the face a lot by patients in the fire service. I had half-jackets for the longest time, but got tired of them breaking on my face with any hard contact. Got the Juliets, now I just get bruises from them being pushed into my face!
I've worn the same pair of Juliets for over 5 years and except for the occasional nose bomb loss and the way they tear through croakies, they've held up great!
Weaknesses: The price was not too bad since there are websites that sell cheap if you are a verifiable medic, firefighter, sheriff, cop or soldier. If not for that, I couldn't buy them!
The lenses scratch far too easily. When you're concentating on the job the "static" isn't too bad, but at other times....
If you have them, keep them around your neck or locked up!!! A few of our guys have had them lifted, once right out of an engine. They hold up to intense heat, so just put them in your turnouts. (NOT next to a tool!).
Bottom Line:
I would recommend these for anyone in emergency services who can afford them. If you drive an ambulance, engine or squad car all day, you need some glasses that can hold up to the abuses of the job.

Strengths: The metal frames feel great on the head and also feel as lite weight as plastic. I have had this pair for 4 years and due to the cost I having lost them and I wear them every day here in southern california. Other sunglasses that I have owen have falling in the ocean or been left in bars but not these.
Weaknesses: Ah the lenses must to treated with kid gloves, this is such a pain. Don't even think about wiping that sweat off with your shirt.
Bottom Line:
I love these glasses, I'm sending back for lense replacement even at a cost of $50.00. But they come back as new.

Strengths: Great futuristic design, interchangable lenses, lifetime frame change(with a price)frame feels expensive to the touch, good hold onto the skull.
Weaknesses: For this ridiculous price(even at retail)i expect that the coating or the frame would be less prone to scratches or discolouration but alas it is not. Also, due to the mass productions, the quality of the frame are not up to expectation.Although claimed to be sort of indestructable Xmetal, the nose bridge area is quite fragile,if u accidentally stretch the ear stem apart, they stressed alot the joint on the nose piece. And where the hell is the oakley metal O on any parts of the sunglasses????Noone knows that its juliet unless that person is an oakley freak!!!!
Bottom Line:
I dont think Juliets are for sports because even though the frames are robust but you wouldnt risk ending up with a scratched chipped pair after a hard game for that price u paid. These sunglasses are more suitable for showing off around town(if you dont mind the weight and sometimes the headache with prolong stem grip on ur head). At first this was the only thing in my head to get(otherwise i'll spent sleepless night dreaming about to own one)but after owning one(and exchanging after due to the fact that it gets discoloured so easily)and you have to take care of it like a baby,I spent more sleepless nights moaning about why i spent a bomb without thinking.I am happier with half-jackets with their true metal Os!!!

Strengths: Cool looks Great Lenses
Weaknesses: * (Very) Heavy frame, especially after wearing for a while * Even though "Juliet" is supposed to be the ladies version of "Romeo", the frame is very large. * Polarised lenses black out my LCD trip computer screen, have to move the shades to read the trip! * Nose piece has fallen off somewhere.... (very poor, especially at that price!) * After at that cash, hard case is extra!! I paid UK £270 (c.$180) plus £30 (c.$20) for the Bullet Hard Case (approx. Exchange rates at time of purchase). * I'm actually reluctant to wear them at times - I fear having them stolen or being mugged! I'm always on edge when I have them on in public! * Price * Price * Price
Bottom Line:
I think some of us are too scared to admit that after paying all that money, they probably weren't worth it. I've previosuly owned 2 pairs of Oakleys and being a massive fan, I treated myself to these top-of-the-range Oakleys with a windfall. I was really tempted to give a great review to make myself feel better and to justify my spend. BUT.... To be completely HONEST.... Bottom line - I wish I'd bought a cheaper pair of Oakleys. As a woman, OK, they look cool when I'm riding and doing my other extreme sports but looks-wise they just don't cut it for the day job and I'm too scared of being mugged or having them pinched off my head when I'm in public. I now don't get the wear out of them that I should, especially at that price. I am seriously consdering writing them off as an expensive mistake, maybe flogging them on ebay, and getting a different pair. Chalked up as a very very expensive lesson-learned! Dissappointed :o(
