Submitted by The Kid a Weekend Warrior from Whittier, Ca.
Date Reviewed: October 2, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Kamakazi at Mammoth
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
protects against UV Rays
fits the head good and they do not slip even after some heavy sweating
the look VERY COOL
don't cost nearly as much as Oakley's and don't scratch as easily either
Weaknesses:
for the $40, the performance is no way related to the cheap price
Similar Products Used:
Ray Ban X-Ray's
Oakley (aren't they all the same overpriced, scratch prone glasses?)
Bike Setup:
Diamond Back, Rock Shox, it's an old Beater Bike (94) but I wouldn't trade it for one of Tomac's personal bikes....maybe.....
Bottom Line:I was flying down the Kamakazi at Mammoth this past labor day weekend when these damn X-Ray's kept sliding off my nose and face (the cheap plastic nose bridge thing was eventually lost) and the damn sweat would smudge the lense, so anyways I almost took a face plant into a tree when I had take one hand off the bars to push them back up, (Note: you never want to take a hand of the bars when you're on that downhill...Duh!!!) These baby's stay in place and keep the bright sun out and look very cool, (the site page doesn't do them any justice) plus they would have to take some serious pounding for them to brake or snap. Give them a try!5 El Fuego Chilito's for these bad boys
Overall Rating:5
