$40.00 | | Strengths: | the fit is awesome and they never ever slip. ventilation is very good and they are all round comfy. | | Weaknesses: | the mesh rips like tissue paper and the knee cups crack very easily | | Similar Products Used: | 661 race | | Bottom Line: | i really hate to get on mtbr and write a bad review... its so whiney. i have a mixed amount of agreement with other reviews - coming from 661 races like the guy below i found it so good taht you could trust these pads not to slip and inch.
im also not surprised that another persons strap came off, the overall quality seems very poor, after riding for a few months with them and not having a crash (which is strange in itself) they stitching had started to fray in a few places.
i finally had two very low speed stacks - one doing a stoppie and one dismounting when doing a skinny ride (onto grass). both incidents were landed feet first but overbalanced onto knees. both incidents resulted in cracks in the knee cups. while the 661 slipped 50% of the time, they took a real beating when they didnt. unfortunately i cant say that the TLDs are durable what-so-ever.
bottom line (of bottom line ;) ) great fit, never slip. durability is a serious issue though.
4 for value as they were about 40AUD less then other top brands

The backs of the legs are open so they are nice and cool in the summer. The plastic is very tough and it won't crack. The three velcro staps are nice and wide and the top two have a neoprene "pad" that velcros into place under the strap so that you don't get worn raw by the velcro.
These rock and I have gone down hard on them plenty of times.
Easily the best buy out there for knee protection. Everything else is uncomfortable or falls apart. I wish their helmets were this inexpensive. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |
