Favorite Trail:Pisgah Whatever
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:Harvey Cycles
Strengths:Stays in place. Wraps around entire leg (hence veggie).
Weaknesses:Getting hot for trail riding now that summer is back. I don't want to take them off for the summer.
Similar Products Used:Dainese knees / shin
Bottom Line:After years catching rocks off the tire, pedals, handle bars, brush, thorn etc. on the shin, i decided to try some shin guards full time on the trail. It was really like duh dude what took you so long. I don't notice them at all when pedaling.

They are getting pretty hot now that summer is setting in here in North Carolina. I might look for something open in the back for the summer but I'll keep riding full time with something on the shin.

Happy Trails

Favorite Trail:Whites
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:Bicycle Village in Boulder, CO
Strengths:Great wrap-around protection, don't get too warm even on climbs, they move around only a tiny amount but always cover the shin itself, comfy, don't restrict movement. Cheap.
Weaknesses:Dirt gets in the top and around the ankle but that's no big deal.
Similar Products Used:661 Race Knee/Shin(borrowed)
Bike Setup:04 Haro Extreme X2-all stock
Bottom Line:Awesome pads for the price. During one ride I actually forgot I had them on until I was loading up my truck afterwards. :) The neoprene breathes well and they look sweet too. Buy these if you're looking for inexpensive, comfortable, and effective shin protection.

Bottom Line:These shin guards are perfect for XC/trail riders looking for abrasion/laceration protection from pedals or other obstacles on tougher trails. Very comfortable to wear on even long rides.
