Date Reviewed: June 24, 2009
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Light, Cheap
Weaknesses:Slipping down no matter what.
Similar Products Used:Some basic hockey pads
Bike Setup:Trek Fuel EX8 w. some extra upgrades
Bottom Line:I'm about to purchase the Lizard Skins and give them a shot. THese haven't worked well and are a constant distraction when I ride tech terrain. A buddy has the same problem. Someone needs to make a basic, minimalist simple knee protector that's not for the DH set, but for the 40 something dude occasional riding iffy terrain.;

Date Reviewed: December 8, 2008
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $50.00
Strengths:Quick to take on and off
Weaknesses:SLIDING..These pads definitely slide down over your kneecaps, leaving them pretty much exposed. It only takes a couple of minutes actual pedaling before they've moved.
Similar Products Used:Fox, knee/shin.
Bike Setup:Giant Glory 8,Bomber 66,mavic,race face,avid..
Bottom Line:They seem fairly comfortable although they get a bit hot.The only reason I would'nt buy these again is due to the slipping/moving that occurs, what good is a knee pad that does'nt protect your knee??

Favorite Trail:Bonzai, Transitional Speedway
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $35.00

Strengths:Lighter than the 661 race pads
Weaknesses:Ug....they move down & out on your leg, leaving all the parts they're supposed to protect vulnerable. Very uncomfy when this happens.
Similar Products Used:Try these on before buying!
Bike Setup:A few different ones.
Bottom Line:Not for me...but cheap.

Submitted by Chris P a Downhiller from San Luis Obispo
Date Reviewed: July 6, 2007
Favorite Trail:Goat trail, salinas
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Lite, simple
Weaknesses:Everything that matters
Similar Products Used:661 race
Bike Setup:Enduro Elite, fox 36, 5th el air, etc
Bottom Line:These things were terrbile. First and only ride with them was an urban ride. They dropped down after a few pedals. First thing I did was race down a parking garage. front end washed out, fell, scraped up my knee because the guared fell down. Never used again, I borrow my roomate's race guards and they seem to stay put much better and protect more. Probably going to buy them instead...
