Submitted by Noah a Downhiller from S.B., Ca
Date Reviewed: December 8, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Tunnel
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
They (in theory) protect your knees and shins
Weaknesses:
They don't work. First off they creep down while riding. In an effort to keep them in place i wear them over my DH pants and they still creep down. Lastly they broke. The knee pad sperated from the shin leaving me with no armor and no money.

Bike Setup:
FSR w/ Xvert carbon
Bottom Line:I feel burned on buying them but they were only $25 bucks from a friend. Still I would never buy them again

Submitted by Ashes a Downhiller from Perth, West Australia
Date Reviewed: September 27, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Goat Farm
Duration Product Used:
2 Years
Strengths:
Protection - don't feel pedal bites, I have run and slid onto my knees in them and no pain is felt, awesome protection
Light
Don't restrict movement
Looks good
Weaknesses:
Fit - they have a tendancy to slide down, but adding extra velcro tabs allowed me to adjust them tighter and they feel sweet
Heat, a little hot but who cares for a 4 minute dh run
Similar Products Used:
bare skin
Bike Setup:
Giant ATX 980
Bottom Line:Well worth the investment, excellent protection

Submitted by lupus a Racer from Shoreline, WA
Date Reviewed: August 2, 1999
Favorite Trail:
SLCC downhill
Duration Product Used:
1 Year
Strengths:
smacked my Cycle Design pedals into my shins, left cuts. Bought these, did it again, no pain at all. No blood at all. No bull, man. These are well reinforced in front.
They sit right on your shin. They won't come off. BUT...
Weaknesses:
They have a tendancy to slide down. What a pain.
Also, the patellar strap falls into the crook of the knee, very uncomfortable.
I slid on the dirt, they scratched up.
Lastly, I broke a pair.
Similar Products Used:
Levi's jeans
Bike Setup:
Surreal slalom bike. What's it to you?
Bottom Line:Qranc got me a new pair of guards 11 days after I broke them. I like their customer service. If they ever make use of that little slot on top of the knee plate for tibial armor, I'm getting it. I don't want a big gash in my leg, and besides, I'm getting tired of pulling up my armor. Oh, yeah, did I mention that it's hotter than hades?
Overall Rating:3
