Date Reviewed: July 26, 2004
Favorite Trail:Keystone Mtn. DH
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:Light, well ventilated, looks agressive
Weaknesses:None that I've found yet.
Similar Products Used:661
Bike Setup:Super 8, Shiver DC, Fox Rc, Double Wides
Bottom Line:Great protection, it's not hot at all, very comfortable I don't even realize I have it on till it matters (in a crash). Protects very well in the event of a major crash. I'd reccomend this armor to any one who's looking for serious protection.

Favorite Trail:san ysidro / cold springs
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $4.00
Purchased At:pinkbike.com
Strengths:Fits on easily, looks cool, very light.
Weaknesses:the bolts on one of the shoulders came loose easily but no big deal, does not cover much area of your body, its more of a motocross protector, but it would be good for just free riding stuff, not downhilling. I use it for downhilling because im a d|_|M8a55 and can't afford expensive 5417.
Bike Setup:downhill = new intense m1, hardtail = 2004 specialized p2
Bottom Line:If you freeride and you want some backup for your upper body this is great, i wouldnt pay 100$ for it, try to find it used, its worth 50$ or less if you find it at that price. i got lucky and found it for 24$ but the guy sent me 20$ since the bolt was gone, haha so i got it for 4$

Favorite Trail:direct dial, val hall
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:that one shop
Strengths:It is quite light to wear, covers the body well, not that expenses
Weaknesses:no arm protection, hot but they all get hot
Similar Products Used:no body armor before this
Bike Setup:specialized big hit expert
Bottom Line:took a couple hard falls on the shoulder and back with this thing on and it saved both. flipped over the handlebars right into a pointed tree stump and it took a huge chunk out of the plastic. might not be the best but i like it.
peace

Date Reviewed: July 24, 2001
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Fox
Strengths:Light fitting
Movable
Not as warm as wearing a protective suit
Weaknesses:Minimal padding
Bike Setup:Haro MX3, Hayes, Risse, Sun-ringle, Azonic
Bottom Line:For around $100 it could be one of the best investments in protective gear I've purchased. It is light and looks good wearing it in or out of the jersey. I have crashed many times, a couple very hard and have walked away from all although this was more or less made for protecting MXer's from flying debree. It could maybe use a little more padding for the back and chest, but it does it job and that's all that matters to me
