Date Reviewed: February 6, 2005
Favorite Trail:Mission Trails
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Comfortable, durable, easy to get on and off - and they don't move!
Weaknesses:Doesn't come all the way down to the wrist.
Similar Products Used:661 Knee/shin, and elbow guards.
Bike Setup:Bullit, Outlaws, Kenda, Shimano drivetrain.
Bottom Line:Great pads. I ripped my 661 arm pads when wiping out the other day, so I got these, and they are way more comfortable, offer better protection, and they don't move around much. They don't really dover your forearm, but that is one of the last places I am worried about. When you wipe out, your elbows take the brunt of the fall, so you should be well protected. Bottom line - great product,, go buy them!

Favorite Trail:Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:Jenson
Strengths:Good protection
Weaknesses:velcro came unstitched after 3 rides, shoddy workmanship! not a good fit for larger arms
Similar Products Used:661
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz Heckler, Talas RLC, XT, Saint, etc.
Bottom Line:Fox wouldn't fix because they were 3 months out of warranty. I'm pissed and won't buy from them again.

Date Reviewed: December 29, 2003
Favorite Trail:Peek a Boo
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:Cycle Shop
Strengths:Very dependable, very comfortable, able to take a beating
Weaknesses:Fellow riders think it is overkill
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Cannondale, Jekyl, Lefty, ready to cruise and pound.
Bottom Line:I am an older rider who can't afford to get hurt. Takes to long to heal. But I spend a lot of time picking myself up after flying over the handlebars. I just stick my forearm out and let the pads take the impact. I have bounced off rock piles, gravel, logs and get up smiling. The pads are scraped, scuffed, dinked, and mashed, but they continue to perform well. They fit good and stay in place. I forget I have them on till I am flying over the bars again. Fit over a long sleeve shirt or jacket nicely. Velcro straps hold everything in place nicely.

Date Reviewed: November 5, 2003
Favorite Trail:Jenkinson Lake/ Salmon Falls
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:Price Point
Strengths:Look and Work Excellent!
Weaknesses:I wish they went down to my wrist and had a strap. However that is my personal preference.
Similar Products Used:Just cheap ones.
Bike Setup:Jamis XC Comp,Black Elite,Fox Float, Shimano Xt/Lx, Mavic, Thompson, ,Answer, Panaracer, etc.
Bottom Line:I'm glad I read the reviews here before buying. These turned out to be a 5, when I thought I would hate them. I was doing some trials on the first day out with them, and I went over bars onto a log. I threw my arms out and I didn't feel a thing. No more road rash... Not to mention that they are super comfortable with or without long sleves. You'll forget you have them on until you need them. Thanks MTB Review and Fox!
