Strengths: Cheapest, light, ventilate well, strap on easy without taking off shoes,Weaknesses: slide sideway, elastic band getting loose, 30% chance you will still get hurt .Bottom Line: It worked well at first, I can put them in my Camelbak and strap on when I get to the top, but after 2 years (very light usage) they lost elasticity and slide sideway too easily. I am very upset that I messed up my knee even I had a knee pad on. Should have spent a little more and save that pain.

Strengths: Cheap.
Good shin protection.
Not excessively uncomfortable or hot.Weaknesses: Not very effective knee protection.
Fall apart easily.Bottom Line: Offers good protection for shins. If you use platforms and do heavy FR or DH then you know how a chunk of meat and possible bone being removed from your shin can ruin your day.
The knee protection is minimal. If you slide forward they easily fold out of the way allowing the ground to have its way with your soft little knee caps. After they get stretched forward a few times they just hang down and flap in the breeze. I also cracked one of the cups in the knee area on a relatively minor fall and now all the thread that holds it on is coming off.
I'm giving 3 chilis for value rating. Even if they are cheap they are not a good value if they do not work.
I'll give two chilis for overall rating since they at least offer shin protection.

Strengths: Cheap! "Modifiable" (see explanation below)Weaknesses: Knee part flaps around, stitching on Fox logo kinda weakBottom Line: I look at the number of nicks and scratches that are slowly accumulating with each ride and I thank the gods that they're on my pads and not on my knees. Pretty sturdy, and not as warm as people might think. As for the flapping knee issue, took em to a shop and had them strap on some heavy duty velcro straps on the top end and presto! "911"-ish knee guards for an extra $2. For freeriding and light downhilling, these do just fine.

Strengths: Decent price for the confidence they provide.Weaknesses: BROKE THE FIRST TIME I CRASHED. I thought that they would be able to stand up to some abuse, but after the first real crash, the knee cup cracked...garbage!Bottom Line: If you're looking for a knee/shin guard that stands up to any sort of abuse, look elsewhere.

Strengths: strong
look good
do ventilate wellWeaknesses: the velcro has made th elastics go fuzzy on the securing side and the knee flap at the top might be better if it was attached to the shin section at the sides with elastic or somethingBottom Line: the knee/shin gaurds definately do the job well you wont over heat in them only real problem i've noticed is that the knee flap might be better if it were attached to the shin section at the sides as it gets caught on your shorts but if can sow then you just attach some elastic to the sides if you wanted to.
