Strengths: Comfy and protective, no restrictions on movement.Weaknesses: Holds in the sweat, feels like a wet diaper sometimes.Bottom Line: I used to get big bruises over my hips from falling over while still cleated in, but now no more raspberries on my hips, even though I'm falling just as much. The Battle Shorts are great as well.

Strengths: Inexpensive, lightweight, effective protection for the hips.Weaknesses: None observedBottom Line: These fit only the Core Rat Battle Shorts, so be sure to order a set with your shorts. They attached via velcro already built into the Battle Shorts, and take just a few seconds to add. For the price, you can't afford to not try them. They aren't noticeable at all on the bike, and should provide good protection in a get off.

Strengths: I never notice they are there and they save your hipsBottom Line: I put these in my battleshorts everytime I ride because there is no reason not to. They don't shift or rub and you never notice they are there. The worst I ever got hurt was riding down an icy trail and fell on my side. Wish I would have had these then.
