Date Reviewed: October 7, 2002
Favorite Trail:westwoods
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:Rock 'n Road Cycles
Strengths:light, ventilated, takes the edge off, comfortable
Weaknesses:none for its intended useage
Similar Products Used:pressure suit, dainese
Bike Setup:RM6, Kona Chute
Bottom Line:it works better then you'd think, it takes the edge off small tumbles into rock guardens and similar falls. If you wack a treee at 40 its not gunna do much, but if you wash out in a corner and lay yourself down on some pointy rocks your not gunna wake up the next morning covered in bruises. I love it for tight trialsy stuff were u need to be light and nimble but if you flop over at slow speed (like 10mp) and nail a rock your fine and just keep on going

I'M ABOUT 1.46 METRES TALL THATS SHORT AND IT FITS ME GOOD I RECOMEND THEM FOR BMX AND DOWNHILL BUT NOT MOTOX RIDERS.sorry about capitals

Date Reviewed: March 26, 2001
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $29.00
Strengths:light
Weaknesses:light
Bottom Line:a 10 oz chest protector? this is similar to tying a bandana around your head and calling it a 1 oz helmet. i got this thing from a motocross shop, i was told its used as an underpad (rock deflector) for an armoured chest protector. i had seen it in a bike catalog for 60 and bought it for 29 at this shop. anyway ive used it maybe 2x, it gives u a small amount of confidence but really its worthless. it doesnt protect shoulders like the big armoured motocycle chest protecters, and is tight and sweaty. save some money and buy a thick shirt and wear elbow/arm pads.

Date Reviewed: December 9, 2000
Favorite Trail:Aliso/Woods
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $65.00
Purchased At:manufacturer/AXO website
Strengths:can't say
Weaknesses:never arrived, hard to find
Bottom Line:This review is for the AXO 10oz. chest protector, if there is such a thing. Don't even attempt to order directly from the manufacturer, either by phone or website order. I put in two website orders and never received the product. Five months and two phone calls later, I finally received a chest protector, but it was a SixSixOne straitjacket. Valencia Sports Group, which handles distribution for AXO, 661, and Gaerne, had some excellent people over the phone but clearly some distribution problems. If anyone is curious, the 661 straitjacket is similar to the B2 bombshell chest protector, but without shoulder cups/pads. Polyester covered EVA foam can prevent sage brush from tearing you to pieces, but does nothing for the rocks. Very disappointed. Go with Dainese--just look at their Body Safety jacket for the possibilities.

3 months
Strengths:
light, relatively cheap
