$80.00 | | Purchased At: | Halfrauds (halfords) UK £££ | | Strengths: | Light weight Cool orange/blue colours, Vented for your pleasure, fits snug, etc! | | Weaknesses: | Had an extra bit of moulding in the front which dug into my head through the padding - had to adapt it a lil bit - adjusters kept unadjusting (added a stitch to keep in place) apart from that these dont really count as a weekness (as every helmet ive had ive had to do this to!) SO NO WEEKNESSES! | | Similar Products Used: | Some blue thing - fell off about 30mph (being towed by motor bike! and thats the only thing that broke!) | | Bike Setup: | GT 1999 XCR 4000 with a few extras ;) | | Bottom Line: | NO LONGER AVAILABLE :( YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$104.00 | | Purchased At: | Freedom Machine | | Strengths: | Great ventilation, so much so that I have to wear a skull cap in winter. Excellent fit system. Great looks that stand out from the crowd | | Weaknesses: | Big top vents cause some sunburn on my sparse bonce. | | Similar Products Used: | Bell Image & Tsunami, various others right back to the original MSR | | Bike Setup: | Giant Sedona rigid MTB tourer Giant XcX NRS dual supension | | Bottom Line: | This has been a very comfortable helmet in all sorts of conditions, even the heat of a 41deg summer trip. Always a comfortable fit and really easy to setup straight from the box. My head hit the hard clay very heavily in a recent dump that has left me with a broken hip and collarbone. Head is fine. The helmet has a small crack in the EPS foam. Have replaced it with the new Anaxagore 2. MET helmets are great. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

In the crash i smashed my wheels(mavic d521 rims) bent my easton monkey bars, i was off work for a week with bad ass cuts and bruses. As the crash was very fast about 38mph, it seemed to happen in slow motion' i can remember bashing my hed a couple of very hard times as i rolled down a nasty bad ass decent. The helmet more than did a good job, not even a sore head... amazing.. if you ride like a twat you must get one of these babys for sure! Lifes to short and all that..keep on riding.. a get yourself a good lid, or it's baby food for the rest of your life! The harness is also very good and extremely comfortable. | | Weaknesses: | The padding seems very thin up top, but so far, it hasn't caused any sort of concerns. | | Bike Setup: | GT Avalanche 3.0 (Upgraded to Deore) | | Bottom Line: | Its the best helmet that I've had so far. Well ventilated, light weight, great fitting, looks good and is very well priced. Plus not many people wear them over here, so its different and people seem to notice it!! $135.00 | | Purchased At: | Bikepark, UK | | Strengths: | This is actually for the Met V Element, but it's not on the list. It's comfortable, easy to adjust, 29 vents (!), non-average looks (not a cookie-cutter helmet). | | Weaknesses: | None that I can see. Is a little wider around the base (If you're bothered by that). | | Similar Products Used: | Giro Pneumo & Exodus | | Bike Setup: | Giant AC1 w/XTR | | Bottom Line: | Cheaper than both my Giro helmets, but lighter and more comfortable. Don't get me wrong; I liked the Pneumo and it saved my head when I got introduced to a Toyota, but I'm glad I ordered the Element. They won't sell the helmet in the US because they're afraid of idiots suing them if they get hurt wearing a Met. I had to order mine from London, but it was worth it. It definately stands out in a crowd. Wish I could give it more Chilis! If you heat up easy or live in a hot environment, look at this helmet first. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

No room to put cool stickers | | Similar Products Used: | Giro. Bell. | | Bottom Line: | Really comfortable, light, well ventilated helmet which you just put on and forget about. Until you hit about 50mph and then the roaring noise from the exhaust vents gets really loud. Joking, but it does vent well. Visor is use to neither man nor beast. I'm giving it 4 Extra Spicy Mopani Worms because I havn't crashed hard enough on my head yet to know for sure it will perform it's primary function. No need for a factory head, ie - Giro. 3 year crash warrenty. | | Weaknesses: | None, besides the colours that Met offers. | | Similar Products Used: | Met Fireball, Met Parabellium, Giro Hammerhead, Bell Avalanche, Cratoni Maniac. | | Bike Setup: | Trek VRX, Full XTR with Marzocchi Z2 front fork (Fully Decked out bike). | | Bottom Line: | Sweet as helment. Keeps your head cool and looking great on long rides in the mountains or the urban assuault. Get this helmet if you want one that looks good and works well. Another reason would be that you cannot fit into a Giro because of the factory head problem which many people have for wearing a Giro helment. It's worth you dollar! $70.00 | | Strengths: | Great fit, good ventiliation, value for money. | | Weaknesses: | None to mention. | | Similar Products Used: | Bell Image Three | | Bottom Line: | This lid fits really well and is easy to adjust. The fit is secure enough to prevent the lid moving about on steep rooty decents whithout creating pressure points on your head. The padding looks a bit thin and flimsy at first glance but comfort is not a problem. I find heavily padded helmets are hot and the pads act as reserviors for the sweat.
The ventilation is great and for once I didn't feel like I was wearing a woolly hat. You'll still sweat so don't expect miracles - if you don't you're not trying hard enough! You just dry out quicker and don't get a clammy head.
I bought this lid as a replacement for a 4 yr old lid that is in good condition. I wanted the ventialtion and the new fit system - I am not dissapointed. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$41.00 | | Purchased At: | Canterbury Cycle Mart, Canterbury, Kent, UK | | Strengths: | Really cool in the summer, light and stiff construction, great 'evil look' and good guarantee policy. | | Weaknesses: | The padding inside is thin and not really ideal on long rides. The worst thing is that the felt is coming away from the sponge padding. It rolls up into a really uncomfortable, hard clump right on my temple. When I take my lid off it looks like I've had a fantastic wipe out into the back of a tourist coach. Will I lose my guarantee if I replace the pads with an old helmet's comfotable padding?
