Simple concept, easy to install, seems to work exactly as intended. Peace of mind. Nice solid feel in your front end.

Comes in any color you want, as long as you want black. Comes in two sizes, you may need to cut some threads off the bolt or cut some depth off the top of the bottom receiver to make it fit. I'm sure any modification would void any warranty and be strongly discouraged by the manufacturer so proceed at your own peril.

I'm not sure if its the mechanical function of the product, some sort of placebo effect, or a combination of the two but my bike does feel more solid in the front end. Any play in your headset is eliminated so all you feel is fork action and bar flex. I had to do a little trimming to the bottom piece to get a secure fit without the threads bottoming out, and used blue loc-tite on the threads for insurance. It took me longer to finagle the star nut out of the steerer tube that it did to install this thing.

As said from all the past post. So many innovations throughout the years and the str flange nut stayed. Why if we all had to keep on readjusting out stem, headsets. With a headlock all those worries is just a thing of the past.

The Chris King headset and Thomson Elite stem setup are the best you can get. The factory Chris King starnut is even a double starnut but I would still get headset loosening (small amount but annoying none the less)after aggressive rides. This product does exactally what it is designed to do -hold the front end together like nobody's business. Absolutely NO headset loosening at all since the install. Grabs ahold and won't let go!! Highly recommend this product.

doesn't fit all forks

looks like an excellent product. i bought one today, but when i went to install it it didn't fit! i have a marzocchi dirt jumper I. the length of the headlock is fine, however, the bottom of the steer tube is too narrow for the lower portion of the headlock. i guess that marzocchi really beefed up the steel steer tube where it presses into the crown. oh well, this headlock still looks benificial, and i may try one on the downhill bike. the only reason i give it 4 chilis overall, instead of five, is that it doesn't fit one of the most popular dirt jump forks (it may fit other marzocchi dj models/years) on the market. still a good product that i would reccomend

Etched Graffix on Top could be done a little better, Since this product lasts so long, it would be nice to see the graffix too. No Mud Guard Attachment yet.

I just Drilled out the bottom to fir a threaded bolt an whamo I have a guard attachment for those xtra muddy days

this is a solid headlock and can take heavy abuse,its good looking and colours come in a good range.

if u want to take ur stem of or sumthin u have to take the hole thing out the bottom of ur fork which is really annoying!!

this offers alot of holding power its easy to fit and fits most frames if u have about 1cm of stackers.

This is a much simpler and much stronger design than the star-fangled nuts. Every quality bike manufacturer should use this OEM rather than the star-fangled nut. They don't, of course (because of the added cost), but they should. Buy this, your headset will never loosen again. It should become the standard for headset construction.

Uh...poor advertising because I didn't hear about it sooner???

It took me less than 10 minutes to remove the old system and install this on my bike. I went for a ride later and noticed an IMMEDIATE difference in how my bike felt. So much so, that I was actually a little afraid about how long I had been riding such an unstable headset connection until now. My front end was VERY flexy until I installed this component but now...WOW....the bike is EXTREMELY solid now, and I really notice it when I corner.

Bottom line: Get one of these now...it will change your perspective on the star nut forever. Just throw that damn thing away. Great product Azonic!!!!!!!!!!

Simple to install. Cant understand why this wasn't invented sooner.

Could see a thicker screw in bolt using an 8mm hex to tighten...but thats nit picking.

This is one of the easiest components to install. It saves time on fork installation and setup. You dont have to spend time hammering that pain in the a$$ starnut into the steerer tube. You can eliminate the worry of whether your headset is tight after installing a stem, spacers, and headcap only to be loosened after a crash or hard breaking. It makes swapping forks as easy as turning a screw. I recommend you purchase 2 headlocks since sooner or later that starnut on your other bike will become obsolete.
