Strengths:    looks solid. durable. balanced well on the pedal. lets you have the choice of a platform or a true clipless pedal. works similar to a hybrid.

Weaknesses:    does not come with clip. clip purchased separately. does not have good traction.

Bottom Line:
very good product for what it is. don't except this to make up for regular platform pedals. don't take it DHing or freeriding. this product is great for the xc rider who every now and then likes to go on leisurely strolls with the family or is taking a short trip and doesnt want to put on their riding shoes.

Bottom Line:
Apparently earlier versions of this product were made of a breakable plastic material. Purchased mine in December '08. It's coated metal, absolutely solid. Not a chance you're going to break it. It's not lightweight, but it's designed for casual rides - a little extra weight shouldn't matter when you just want to ride around the neighborhood or down to the store in street shoes.

Downside: there's very little in the way of traction. There's plenty of grip dry and pedaling casually, but the slightest bit of moisture would make me nervous. It's a slick paint finish. Be aware.

Downside: also be aware you'll have to buy cleats to mount the pedals. I'd assumed there'd be basic cleats included. Nope; gotta buy them. The product descriptions don't mention this.

It should be cheaper, given the need for cleats, and wet-weather riding will require some finesse. But it's getting high marks because it's a simple, indestructible product that does exactly what it needs to do.
