Submitted by Biohazard74 a Weekend Warrior from Miami Florida USA
Date Reviewed: September 28, 2009
Favorite Trail:Oleta, Markham, Quiet Waters
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $80.00
Purchased At:Bike Tech
Strengths:"VERY" good grip !! My feet came off on one occasion on a 4hr ride. I blame myself for that tho. They are light. And the color matched my bike
Weaknesses:Great grip, but when it does slip. You pay dearly. The Allen head bolt-style traction pins are very grippy on shoe rubber so imagine them on the back of your calf. But i think its a small price to pay for good gripping platforms. Also the screw that keeps the pedals on should be checked after long rides as mine came loose after about 8 hrs of use.
Similar Products Used:Wellgo LU-313 Pedals
Bike Setup:2009 Giant Yukon FX
Bottom Line:I think they are good pedals but definately not $80 pedals. I think they are the best gripping platform pedals around as long as you constantly service them and maintain them.

Favorite Trail:Nearest Sidewalk
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $70.00
Purchased At:Cant remember
Strengths:Very tough, excellent footwear bite, replaceable "teeth", excellent choice of material (Mg and chromoly axles)
Weaknesses:None
Similar Products Used:OEM platic pedals
Bike Setup:San Andreas Mtn Cycle
Bottom Line:Night and day stronger than the stock plastic pedals which I blew out after a couple days. I shouldnt be surprised since in full riding gear I am pushing 280#. Anyway, these things bite into hard rubber issues combat boots even though the waffle was super-caked. I have never slipped off. "I bought these so I would never have to replace them" - my rule for parts replacements for a dooms-day bike.

Weaknesses:After a year the bearings came loose. I tried to remove the bolts holding the body on to the axle. The axle snapped!! Rubbish quality.......

Bike Setup:Intense 6.6
Bottom Line:Dont bother, feel great but just dont last.

Favorite Trail:York Regional Forest
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Bikesports - Newmark
Strengths:Three bearings plus bushings,fairly light weight,low profile,good foot traction.
Weaknesses:Spin resistance adjustment
Similar Products Used:Cheapo Platforms
Bike Setup:'04 Specialized Pro ... Pretty much stock except Spinergy Enduro wheelset with Kenda small block 8's
Bottom Line:The product description says these pedals have adjustable spin resistance. I have run them for 2 seasons and the bearings are showing a fair amount of play so this winter while working on the enduro I disassembled the pedals cleaned them and re-packed them with grease. Next I decided to adjust the spin resistance to hopefully remove some of the play in the bearings. I couldn't find the spin resistance adjustment so I contacted Specialized customer service. They replied that the spin resistance adjustment consists of removing the O-ring on the spindle shaft to allow the pedals to spin freely or replacing it so the pedal would not spin without pressure applied. I don't think that this qualifies as adjustable spin resistance. I decided to purchase these pedals partly because of the spin resistance adjustment, so I could adjust them as they wear. But this is not the case. I am posting this to inform future purchasers of this lack of adjustment and let them decide.

Favorite Trail:Miller's Pond
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Awsome grip, pedals seemed to attract my feet. I didn't lose any shin on slips. they took some good beating from rocks as well. pedals are thin profile, lets me get the seat that half an inch lower. also seemed like they were allways in the horozontal position when i needed them there.
Weaknesses:Mud, The thick mud of eairly spring seems to cake onto the pedal. Not a major concern I guess it didn't affect the gripping power. after reading other review it's gotta be the concave design
Similar Products Used:v-8, spd clip ins, el-cheap-o plastics
Bike Setup:Kona Dawg, lots of upgrades, Race face crank
Bottom Line:GREAT PEDAL! wouldn't hesitate to buy another set.

Strengths:The grip is AMAZING, feels like they're taped to your shoes. Love the gold powder coat.
Weaknesses:After hitting up my homemade trails/jumps, i noticed that my left pedal was loose. when i tightened the nut on the end of the spindle, i broke the nut off.
Similar Products Used:Bontrager Big Earl Platforms ( the Lo Pro Mag 2's beat the Big Earl's ass, for real)

Bottom Line:The Bike Way decided to warranty them, even though i didn't have an original receipt. I just had to pay $20 for the shipping all the way from Cali.

Strengths:Traction, Weight, Looks
Weaknesses:none
Similar Products Used:Wellgo Platforms replaceable pins, Diamondback molded pins
Bike Setup:2004 Enduro, PUSH'd, Hope Pro II and Mavic 321's
Bottom Line:They're just platform pedals so let's not get to fancy with the description. Traction is all that matters and rebuildability. The pins grip but still let you lift and reposition your foot. They're getting scratched pretty quick but my BB is low.

Submitted by Royce a Weekend Warrior from Asheville, NC USA
Date Reviewed: June 19, 2007
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:came on bike
Strengths:great looks, amazing traction, bearings work oh so well
Weaknesses:gold paint does scratch on sides rather easily; doesnt affect performance but does make it look rather worn. Also, the pegs hurt when they hit your leg
Similar Products Used:plastic crap
Bike Setup:stock '05 P.2 w/ these (they came on the bike when I bought it, so dont know how much they cost), Holy Rollers, and Avid Codes on both ends
Bottom Line:I love these pedals. I have never ridden my bike with another set, but they almost reach up and grab your shoes they grip so well. Like I said, if your foot does come off for some reason and they hit your chins, it will make blood, but I don't mind. The bearings work really well, perfect spin resistance. So, not many negatives at all. Bottom line? Great pedals, go get yourself a pair

Strengths:Very light. Good grip on nice flat soled shoes. Low profile means great clearance.
Weaknesses:Check the nuts to see if they are loose first day out with these pedals the nut on the right pedal backed off. Luckly I found both o-rings and the nuts.
Similar Products Used:Junk plastic demo pedals.
