Date Reviewed: April 16, 2003
Favorite Trail:Duck Pond
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:Performance Online
Strengths:Price, durability, easy in and out
Weaknesses:Terrible in the mud
Similar Products Used:toe clips, various shimano spd
Bike Setup:Stock 2002 Specialized Rockhopper
Bottom Line:These are a great pedal in dry, no mud conditions. Work great on my 12 km ride to work through the urban jungle. Just don't make it on muddy trails. Cleats get mudded up, clips get mudded up, can't clip in or if you have to force it in, it is difficult to release when things get hairy. Great value for use on the street or on dry trails. I'm looking for something else to use on the trails around here which are generally wet and muddy. Give it 2 chilis overall just because of difficulties in the mud.

Submitted by Biker Girl a Weekend Warrior from Seattle, WA
Date Reviewed: March 7, 2003
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:performance bike
Strengths:Pretty light, reasonable price, SPD compatible
Weaknesses:None so far
Similar Products Used:specialized stock pedals
Bike Setup:'99 Stumpjumper Pro Hardtail
Bottom Line:I broke the specialized pedals that were stock on my bike after 2+ years, and needed SPD replacements for a reasonable price/weight. These fit the bill. No complaints so far, they are working great, are very similar to the specialized stock pedals I was using and I got them on sale so I'm pretty happy with my decision.
