Price Paid: $70.00
Purchased At:Universal Cycles
Strengths:Grippy and wide
Weaknesses:Bearings and customer service
Bike Setup:Yeti 575
Bottom Line:Looking for my first flat pedal and picked the wrong ones. DO NOT GET THIS PEDAL. Pedal's internals get loose in first ride and hard to adjust, now they bang around. Bearings went in first ride!!!!
No customer service, you are unable to contact FUNN except by MY SPACE??? What is up with that? When they did email me a couple of weeks ago they would not help out. Would not recommend these to anyone!!!

Favorite Trail:Oswego, IL
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Weight / strength, grip.
Weaknesses:Bad bearings - worn out quick. Pins are tough to get out when the top get ground down. I prefer to be able to remove from the bottom, not the top.
Bike Setup:DJ / street / park
Bottom Line:Bearings wore out way too fast. Pedals are now garbage after 6 months. Going to put my 3 year old Kona's back on. Couldn't replace some of the pins since the tops got ground down. Had to use pliers, just a pain.

They will rip the crap out of your shins but that isn't the pedals fault.

Great grip, but lots of pedals have a good grip - and good bearings.

Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:Universal Cycles
Strengths:Grippy
Weaknesses:Weak internal construction
Bike Setup:Yeti 575
Bottom Line:I was all hyped up about these pedals and they worked fine for the first ride and then it all went down hill. After the third ride they siezed up and then got loose right away. They are already tightened all the way and they rattle and creak. Very hard time reaching company through MY SPACE, ..when they did write back they say it is a product malfunction but would not help..ponded it off on the distributor or place where they were purchased. Contacted distributor..stated contact Universal Cycles, emailed them....still waiting for a response... No support. Would not recommend!!!!!!

Favorite Trail:Any long fast hill section
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $60.00
Purchased At:Alfred.E.Bike
Strengths:Sound construction, simplistic design, 3M gritty grip tape, big pins and sealed bearings all work to make this the most confidence inspiring flat pedal that is not extreme like BMW Shin Burgers.
Weaknesses:nada
Similar Products Used:Range of flatties
Bike Setup:Iron Horse SGS with 2006 bling
Bottom Line:I give this product top chillies. Cos I have used em' for a full season of racing and weekend playing without any issues. These are the sealed bearing version and has been used in horrid wet and muddy conditions, never have the pedals had any mechanical issues nor has my foot slipped other than due to my shoe falling apart. (they were old to start with but the pedal chewed them out) I now have a pair of five tens sticky shoes and I gotta say the combination rocks! Get them, you wont be disappointed.

Weaknesses:you have to pop them open and tighten the nut inside hear and there because they develop play over time, but other than that none

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $78.00
Purchased At:Calgary Cycle
Strengths:Sweet design, wicked durability. My foot was practically glued to the peddle and I never slipped once
Weaknesses:There should be more pins near the centre, maybe reduce the weight a little. A bit expensive, maybe it's jsut the dealer.
Bike Setup:Brodie Holeshot, XTR, Hayes Hydraulic, Dorado DH
Bottom Line:These are great peddles for anyone looking for a step up against the competition. They are no gimmick down to the point peddles with no unecessary "advanced tachnologies". Just the real deal.

Favorite Trail:Moose Mountain
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:Bow Cycle
Strengths:Big, Flat and Sealed bearings
Weaknesses:Wish it had pin placements near the centre. It's just pins around and sandpaper grip type in the middle
Similar Products Used:Wellago B-37
Bike Setup:Klein Mantra, Jr T, XTR Drive, Helix Pro, Hayes, RaceFace Forged
Bottom Line:The Pedals are a great. I was impressed with the size very big and flat. The middle sandpaper grip was very sketchy at first but when you start riding downhill and everything starts shaking and your shoes never leave the pedal. Pedals and shoes stick so well my foot sliped out one time. I heard these pedals are pretty expensive like 150 buck CAD but if you can find a deal for them I would recommend picking one up.

Strengths:Great platform you can move around on
Weaknesses:Almost worn out my second set
Similar Products Used:wellgo bmx pedle
Bike Setup:Giant AC2
Bottom Line:I really like these pedals, they grip well and I have not had to replace any of the pins yet. However, I have had to send the pedals back because the bearings went on them after three months and my second set went at the end of the summer. I can still pedal, put the action is not smooth and I can feel the bearings grinding and catching a bit.
I just got a Sasquatch and the Wellgo BMX pedals that come with that bike have much better grip then the Funn ones and I assume they are cheaper.
Bottom line is I'm trying the Wellgo pedals next time on my AC2. The Funn pedals are really good, but, to go through two sets in a summer is just stupid for such an expensive pedal. Two chilis for breaking, Five because I really liked using them.

Bike Setup:2001 Norco Torrent.
Bottom Line:These pedals offer superior traction and spin super smooth. The non-skid pad in the middle of the pedal keeps your feet where they belong. I found it alot easier to shif my foot position on the Viper's than on other flats.

Favorite Trail:Whatever's under my bike
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month

Strengths:Large surface area, hold on to your shoes like they're glued to the pedal. Open beer.
Weaknesses:None yet.
Bike Setup:Stock AC2, replaced Shimano Clippless with funn pedal.
Bottom Line:If you're looking for a some pedals to use for freeriding, these pedals are fantastic, they grip into your shoes very well and if you grind off a pin, they are replacable, Yay. I don't yet know if they are good for downhill, but I assume they are with how they feel. The only pedal that has more grip that I found was the BMW Shin Burger. And like the Shin Burger, these pedals will open your beer for you when the day is done without turning your shins into hamburger, like the BMW's, if your foot slips. There's tons of pedals out there but these one work well for me.

Weaknesses:A bit oversized so they hit some rocks, non-sealed. Weight (i am a free-reider, but theese are a bit excessive.)

Bike Setup:2001 Brodie Electro with bomber z5 fork and 2.7" maxis high-rollers (sweet)
Bottom Line:I paid 79 canadian dollars for these pedals, and they are great The price is pretty good and the grip that they provide is amazing! these pedals are somthing that you can just put on your bike and forget about. they have planty of room, so your entire shoe sole can fit on with some room to spare. an all-round great product that is worth the money and grips like a clipless pedal. YOu should but these pedals if you want to make the switch from clipless to platform, if your current pedals have broke, or your looking for more grip. D;ont buy theese if you are weight concious.
