Date Reviewed: August 8, 2011

Strengths:    cheap

Weaknesses:    Spring gets stuck OPEN. Left pedal was defective right out of the box. First ride on these, and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get clipped back in. Dangerous, I did a jump and my left foot actually came out of the pedal due to the spring not working and without twisting my foot to unclip.

Bottom Line:
You get what you pay for. I am sending these back, will see if Crank Brothers replaces or repairs them, it remains to be seen.

Similar Products Used:   Candy SL - these were opposite, the left pedal on my Candy SL's (and the reason I bought the Candy X's) would not come unclipped easily enough, and would cause me to fall clipped in when I needed to get my left foot out (even with the shims) The right pedal worked great. The Candy SL's lasted less than 1 year before they were unbearable.

Strengths:    Good entry level clipless pedal. Easy entry/exit. Inexpensive.

Weaknesses:    Plastic wings may crack with time. Spring may shift out of place and will need to be pushed back into the center to be able to engage the cleat (occurred after a few months worth of use).

Bottom Line:
Perfect for trying out clipless without spending any money.

Date Reviewed: February 21, 2010

Strengths:    These are my first pair of clipin pedals and they are working great. I can get in and out with ease. I went ridding yesterday after a rain and they still worked great in muddy conditons.

Weaknesses:    none yet

Bottom Line:
So far these peadles are working perfectly and I have no complants. I love the power I have gained while climbing. I was not sure at first if I wanted to be cliped into my bike. But since I have had them i would not want it any other way.
