I have beenusing these pedal since they first came out. I believe the first set had a spindle break. But Azonic replaced them without issue. I have since had 2 other pair with no issues. They were purchased in 2001! I have ridden hard and done NO maintenance to them. I would reccomend these pedals to any one. May try out the new 420's now, just for weight reasons.

Strengths: Great looking, good grip on the feet.
Weaknesses: Bearings/bushings took a dump after very little use.
Bottom Line:
I had these pedals for about a year, but they were only used about 5 times, since I normally ride with clipless pedals. They started howling during a ride and went I attempted to remove the outer bearing cap, it broke into pieces. CRAP!!!

Strengths: They stick to your feet
Weaknesses: Bearings/Overall construction
Bottom Line:
The bearings went after two weeks of use. A month or two later I noticed there was a lot of play with the spindle. I kept riding then and then one of the end caps cracked and fell off. This all happened in about 4 months of use. Never again will I buy A-Frames

Strengths: Super grippy even when wet Look good grippy ergonomic big platform
Weaknesses: left pedal blew apart weight
Bottom Line:
Pedals are good super grippy big platform awesome im smooth rider weigh about 150 but will hit decent sized stuff 18 foot drops 30-35 doubles and downhilling
But i got them used and i dont know how the kid before me rode or how smooth
but for the beating i gave them i'll give them a four
Strengths: strong, very grippy, easy to maintain and rebuild, spin smoothly
Weaknesses: a little bit heavy, the black sctratches really easily
Bottom Line:
this is a great all around pedal. i used it on DH races as well and it gripped well. for dirtjumping, it's a little hard to get your feet off for tricks. but they are very strong and reliable
Bike Setup: 2006 medium blur 4x w/RP3, 2007 fox 32 float RLC ,chis king wheelset, chris king headset, monkeylite DH bars, juicy 7 brakes, XO drivetrain, stylo cranks, gamut race chainguide
Strengths: - good grip - easy to service - silver ones look great - silver finish is very durable - tough pedals
Weaknesses: none
Bottom Line:
Great pedals for the price. I've been using the same set for 4 years now, and they've been on 4 different bikes. they started out as my DH pedals, but I got some Syncros Mentals, so the A-Frames are now on my trail bike which sees more ride time than my DH bike. I can't believe how durable they are. I periodically pull them apart and pack them with grease, and that's all the maintenance I've ever had to do. They've seen a ton of ride time over the years, and the original bearings are still smooth, and the spindles dead straight. I've never even had to replace a pin. I have the silver ones, so they wear great, and still look almost new. Great grip, depending on the show you're wearing as well. Incredible value if you ask me.

Strengths: Extremely durable and smooth. I used Loc-Tite on the pins right after I bought them. It took about 5 minutes and had absolutely 0 problems.
Weaknesses: Absolutely no weaknesses. Use Loc-Tite on the pins before use.
Bottom Line:
These are probably THE BEST pedals out there but again I stress to use the 5 minute Loc-Tite set up before using.

(A follow-up to a post I left a couple months ago). Daniel Burton (dburt@onealusa.com) from Azonic contacted me quickly after my posting here on MTB REVIEW and offered an even exchange of the pedals. Well they have arrived and I will give 'em a good work out this summer. I'll repost in a few months and see if this set holds up better.
Good customer service goes a long way and I would like to say thanks to Mr. Burton and MTB REVIEW. The manufacturers and companies do read the reviews on this website and our voices are heard.
Strengths: Great grip, replaceable pins, Look pretty good
Weaknesses: After a couple of years very light use (on my old BMX, then moved to my MTB) the bearings started to seeze up. Now they make god awful creaking noises. Tried to regrease but it made matters worse.
Bottom Line:
For the price these pedals should be better made. The internal design seems to be really badly thought out. And at 75 bucks these things are too expensive. I would highly recommend lookin elsewhere for some platforms.
DX, Eastons or Crank Bros 5050's would be a better bet, if more expensive.

Strengths: Good grip, lots of pins
Weaknesses: Weak bearings, Terrible customer service from Azonic
Bottom Line:
These pedals worked great for the first few rides (I rarely rode them over 3 years), but after the 5th or 6th ride on them I had a noisy bearing, as others below mentioned. I tried to remove the dust cap and found it to be cracked, distorting it and not allowing an allen key to fit. I emailed Azonic, no response. I emailed them again, no response. I called their home office, no response. So I'm stuck with a fairly new set of pedals that I can't use.
On a side note, a friend gave me an old set of his A-Frames that have seen severe use and they work great. I guess it's the luck of the draw regarding the bearings.
This GB is going ahead, but we are very limited on the time frame. We need to have our money in by next Saturday. All the info and pricing is in this thread starting at post #51:
