Strengths: Nice shifting, quite, reliable, no problem at simple off-road tracks, with ~1ft drops.Weaknesses: Maybe shifting under full load during uphill, but not something really annoying.Bottom Line: This is a nice, value-for-money derailleur for someone who knows that he is not a pro, and just likes to ride on the hills around his town. Try it, and if you brake it then you are better than it, buy a better one. But if you are not interested in records, why spend in advance much more money on something that you might never over-use it?

Strengths: Cheap, Reliable.Weaknesses: Noisy.Bottom Line: I cycled 800 miles on every sort of track you can imagine alongside a bike with Deore gears and the difference is minimal. With a decent knowledge of gear systems these are absolutely fine, anyone that says different is probably just not a very good cyclist.

Strengths: Well at first very nice. Smooth shifting, Fast shifting.Weaknesses: Plastic...This product was not made for off road use. It Is very cheep and is made really for on road use only.Bottom Line: Like everyone said get ready to replace it! Really when you get a bike that has it on it, replace it immediately. Its a hazard on the trail, and its no fun to have to walk your bike back to the starting stage.

Strengths: was smooth for the first monthWeaknesses: Deraileur exploded into three pieces while doing 35mph going downhill. I have a bike computer and yes, I was going 35 when it fell apart. It was not pretty. The gears are plastic, not metal.Bottom Line: Toss the deraileur and get a different model or a different brand. It is not worth your safety to keep it.
Duration Product Used: 3 months
Price Paid:
$300.00
Bike Setup: This deraileur came on my Mongoose XR200 that cost 300.00 when I bought it. Now it has come down to 200.00 but they still have the same deraileur on it. Be prepaired to change it within 3 months of riding.

Strengths: really quiet at first, smooth shifting at first too.Weaknesses: chain bends the cage and hops out of it. Really bad noisy shifting when slightly sandy.Chain keeps hopping to the side of the bottom tension pulley because it's bent.Bottom Line: If this derailleur came on your bike be prepare to replace it with something better. It came stock on my bike which I have had less than a month, so this shouldn't have happened so soon. I am going to try to bend everything back to normal. I'm giving it 2 flaming things because it was quiet and smooth when it worked.
