Strengths:    Crisp shifts, works like XT (have a look at Shimamo´s technical documents!), looks good, tough and light enough. This XC/AM derailleur is a great allrounder.

Weaknesses:    None. Bad for Shimano: it´s really a good derailleur and you have not to empty your wallet for it.

Bottom Line:   
I think, I have made a mistake in the past. I always thought it has to be XT minimum for race purposes, better XTR. Since I tried SLX Dyna-Sys just for fun I changed my point of view. Superperformance, what a waste of money in the past. So, save your money, invest it for a lightweight wheelset with fast, light tires, which will be much more effectice, and go out for a ride.
