Date Reviewed: January 10, 2001 | | Favorite Trail: | plattekill XC | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Purchased At: | came with frame | | Strengths: | it worked. sort of. | | Weaknesses: | adjuster broke. the low end screw just sheared it off. not good to lose your low ring during a race | | Similar Products Used: | alivio, stx | | Bike Setup: | 98 homegrown 4banger. bunch of low end shimano off my old 95 rockhopper. | | Bottom Line: | well, it f--king broke, the lever that the adjuster screw hit was cleanly broken. which meant that it dumped my chain whenever i brought it down for a hard climb. it seems that of all the parts to break, that one should never. could be the previous owner did something to it. POS. vastly prefer the cheap STX i replaced it with. which at least works (yeah, i'm poor. so what?).
