A great, inexpensive way to preserve your rear derailleur! Lizard Skins Grunge Guard is a rubber boot designed to protect the derailleurs moving parts form dirt, mud, snow and ice.
Excellent and ingenious product. I average @10 miles a day, year round in all weather conditions over mainly city pavement and unpaved bike paths in Denver, Colorado. The Grunge Guard eliminates the need for frequent cleaning of the rear derailleur, especially in winter. I was so impressed with it, I purchased a Grunge Guard for the front derailleur as well, with the same impressive results. These boots are very light weight and neither product interferes in the least with shifting. I highly recommend the Grunge Guard to riders of all types of multi-speed bikes.
