Strengths: Cost effective, solid build.Weaknesses: Bit heavy but not for its strength and price.Bottom Line: I don't think the BB matches up the the strengths of the crank arms. That said it did come on a complete bike from 05 and I have only just snapped the axle. Now i've done sessioned a 16 set to flat and done big gaps to landing in stairs with this bad boy and for the money it can't be faulted. I must admit that I was pretty annoyed when it snapped on monday (1st march 2010) but thinking about it I should've replaced it a long time ago. I never gave this thing a second look as far as maintenance goes. It would've been lucky if it got some gt85 sprayed in its direction every now and then.
I am planning on just getting a new BB but this time a giga pipe team dh instead of the standard isis drive dh fitted to complete bikes. This is only because I now weigh in at 15 stone and plan to up my riding game a bit.
Plus I'm not sure the gf is prepared for all the upgrading of 5 year old parts that is gonna be needed this year ;)
Final words, great cranks for the money. Obviously there's better out there but price wise its like comparing a subaru to a ferrari. Get the subaru!

Strengths: got me from A to B a few times with no problemsWeaknesses: Crank arms fall off too often, even though i tighten them about every ride. Chain rings blow, i run a 22/32/bashguard setup and bent one side of the chain ring 45 degrees just from shifting.Bottom Line: I have no respect for any part of this crankset. They ruined a lot of fun for me having to fix them almost everyride.

Strengths: Looks, name, almost nothingWeaknesses: Soft alloy, heavy as hell, crappy paintBottom Line: I used them for 2 months and in my last race I hit a bog root with my left pedal and bend the left crank arm. Also i noticed that even whe they're heavy and bulky they flex a lot.

Strengths: Cheap.Weaknesses: everything. the left crank arm keeps on droping off when im riding everything's tight but it still keeps coming off. It happens everyride. Kind of flexy.Bottom Line: Do not buy unless your a xc rider.
The crapest cranks ever.
the flex and and allways just drop off, no warning and the paint also scrathes off really easy were your feet / pants rub.

Strengths: Lasted about 2 years...Weaknesses: Hmm..where to start. Way too flexy, any threaded portions are extremely weak and strip out (at the crank and at the pedal insertsBottom Line: Pieces of JUNK! They came with the bike when I bought it, but now they are going to be replaced, as they are stripped out everywhere. I noticed after a ride that I was beginning to get a slight creaking noise from the bottom bracket area...turns out one of the crank arms was totally loose. Went to pull out one of the crank bolts, and found that the threads were completely stripped. Fortunately I could still get my crank removal tool in there to get both sides off. When I went to try and remove my pedals, the inserts threaded right out, and are pretty much fused to my pedals. What a bunch of garbage.... my old Specialized cranks from '97 have taken more of a beating than these things and are still solid! Save your money and buy something else if you're gonna do any kind of freeriding,DH, jumps, etc...

Strengths: truvative name
bash guardWeaknesses: the cro-mo insert bull sh*t
Bottom Line: these cranks are crap.DO NOT BUY THEM
i ride a dually with 5 inches in the rear and have done no drops over 5.5 feet on these pedals and th insert still ripped out on the non drive side. i talked to the warranty people and they did absolutly nothing. they said there was only a 1 year warantee on them. both inserts are also ripping out on my friends hardtail rite now too.
i dont see how it is possible to rip out the inserts when your on a dually never mind a hard tail
bottom line: if you like buying your cranks 2 and 3 times get these piles. if you wanna buy once go race face
id put zero flaming chillis for value but i cant
1 falming chilli overall for the truvative name and the strength of the bashguard

Strengths: Stiff, Strong, Have held up to 6 foot drops (with 200 lb rider).Weaknesses: Original set had pedal inserts that loosened. Sram replaced with a newer set that had cross-pinned inserts. If you plan to purchase make sure you are getting a cross-pinned model.Bottom Line: I've given these cranks a pretty good run for their money and they've held up great (the cross-pinned set that is). The rings are hardened steel on my set which isn't the lightest, but durable as hell. If these cranks ever need replacement I'll either go with another set of these or some Holzfellers.

Strengths: Bombproof strength, good looks longevityWeaknesses: weaknesses?Bottom Line: These cranks are awsome i've smashed them on everything, heven't even had to tighten the bolts since i got em, if you are looking for cranks that you can throw on your bike and forget about these are for you. I reccomended them to a friend when he busted his cranks, he loves them. Strong enough for downhill, yet light enough for freeride, ultra stiff.
