Date Reviewed: September 26, 2005
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:came on my chase
Strengths:looks good, great for jumping
Weaknesses:creeks like a mother...not sure what its from. left crank decided id pop-off on a nice 6 1/2 ft. drop. keeps comming loose even after i replaced the bolts
Bike Setup:cannondale chase 2, e.13 chain guide, still basicly stock
Bottom Line:seemed like a good crank at first, rode them without worrying for about 1 month. the left side cranks actually "poped" out on a 6 1/2 ft drop. striped the bolt. replaced the bolt but it comes loose alot and creeks.

any suggestions to stop the creeking would be welcome, please e-mail

Favorite Trail:26 at whiteface
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:nothing
Weaknesses:crank arms bend, pedals strip out, the bolt that connects crank arms to the bb gets stripped out, bb losens after almost every ride.
Similar Products Used:nothing really
Bike Setup:04 stinky, e 13 chainguide
Bottom Line:these are the worst cranks i have every seen. the crankarms bend and hit the chainstay and bend right at the end of the arm near the pedal. both the arms and the pedals get stripped out and the bb losens after every ride. right now my bike is almost unrideable because of these cranks.

Favorite Trail:everything
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:bike shop
Strengths:it's really good-looking and strong and intended for jumping , dropping , avoid doing trials with this crank because it WILL bend
Weaknesses:it bends easily if u make it take impacts into ledges after you try to hop onto them, perfect the art of hopping on ledges so it doesn't bend, then your set to go
Similar Products Used:shimano
Bike Setup:ruckus thats really cool
Bottom Line:get it if you dont want to spend the dollars on a saint or holzfeller or diabolous and you want to have a great time jumping, dropping, and free riding, minus trials riding. this crank is durable so u can let loose, just dont use it for trials

Favorite Trail:Lehigh Parkway
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:Local Bike Shop
Strengths:Very durable, Good clearance for logs and stuff without those third chainring teeth.
Weaknesses:None so far.
Similar Products Used:Original chainrings that came on my Giant.
Bike Setup:Giant Iguana Disc
Bottom Line:I have used these chainrings for at least six months and I usually break anything I can on my bike. I had them installed by my local bike shop and have had no problems with them yet. Maybe other people have installed the chainrings themselves and aided in the stripping of their inserts but I have had no such problems. I do everything from technical rock and log hopping to commuting 20 miles to work and back and have had no problems. Very worth my money.

Date Reviewed: February 20, 2005
Favorite Trail:Gnarliest local trail possible
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:They are super stiff, look awsome, very strong, and its nice to able to put back that third ring when ever you want because you can just swap it out with the super thick nice bash gaurd.
Weaknesses:None so far.
Similar Products Used:All the other husselfelt models.
Bike Setup:Khs FR304 my freeride bike with all aftermarket parts, and I run these cranks on my DH race bike but the single ring DH model.
Bottom Line:I love these cranks I dont care what anyone sais they are sweet and I will always like truvative cranks being a Downhiller and freerider in the off season of racing. Great cranks would recomend for Freeriders who have to pedal up before going down.

Date Reviewed: October 1, 2004
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:The crank arms themselves are pretty sturdy, and look awesome.
Weaknesses:Pedal threads-- The pedal threads are terrible, I was just riding along a trail yesterday on the way to some dj's and my pedal started to come loose. The threads are stripping so I need to look for some new cranks now.
Similar Products Used:Race face
Bottom Line:I would avoid buying these cranks, the threads will strip no matter what kind of riding you do. Not worth the money or the time. If you want some truvativ cranks then I'd suggest either the Holzfeller or some 2005 cranks.

Strengths:clean looking , not to much flex, Strong, splined
Weaknesses:My left , non drive side crank arm stripped at the pedal thread, poor matierial used. With the steel inserts ,i here they are good cranks , but i wouldnt suggest rising them with out the inserts.
Similar Products Used:Race Face
Bike Setup:Vps buzz, d wides, Fsa, Avid , Race face, xt
Bottom Line:Nice cranks, wouldnt suggest riding them unless the steel insert is on them, beware of stripping pedal threads.

Favorite Trail:Anything going down
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $135.00
Purchased At:bike-box
Strengths:They "look" strong and they don´t flex.
Weaknesses:Metal insert stripped right out of crank. I had the same problem as the guy who posted below. After doing some small drops, the metal insert came out on the right crank.
Similar Products Used:None so far.
Bike Setup:Banshee Scream, Shiver DC, Sun Doublewide, Magura Gustav M, Nokian Tyres, FSA handelbar, Mr. Dirt Stem, and, and .....
Bottom Line:I should have read the reviews before I bought them. This crankset is way to soft. I mean how can the metal insert strip right out of the crank after only 3 months of riding. I´m going to try out the Holzfeller and hope they last longer.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:w/ new bike
Strengths:Splined BB, comes with bash ring.
Weaknesses:Insert not well executed.
Bike Setup:DeVinci Kingpin
Bottom Line:I broke this crank on my second ride. I hadn't done any drops or crashed hard yet. The steel insert stripped itself right out of the right hand crank arm. I was riding with the manager of a bike shop who said they have seen this happen quite a few times this season.
