Oddly enough, I ended up using these cranks almost exclusively on the road, so they saw none of the real abuse they were supposedly designed for. Raceface was completely unsympathetic, saying that they only had a 1-yr warranty. That's what I get for "upgrading" from my old shimano. I wish I'd kept the old shimanos, because I'd put them back on. Why would I want to pay 68$ for a new crankarm when it's a piece-of-crap design, and raceface doesn't want to do anything about it? I emailed the addr on their website about this a couple days ago, and haven't heard anything back at all! I thought raceface was the stuff, but I used to beat the heck out a set of old LXs and they never gave out on me! Raceface has lost a customer in me... If you want a pair of cranks that can take abuse these do the job, however, if your abuse includes high miles along with big drops, these things don't seem to be up to the task. I'm switching to truvativ because i've heard they can handle long xc as well as drops. I have to give them credit, though -- worked great for 2 years and you should see what this poor bike has been through. I figure any product that kept me happy for 2 years deserves at least three chilis.
I think what someone said about short threaded pedals is very true -- I'm using Ringle ZuZu pedals, and they have a pretty short thread that doesn't reach all the way through this crank. To make things worse, because the crank is all aluminum, you're supposed to use a washer, which reduces the thread a little more...

The pedal threads have stripped on the non drive side.
I have spoken to the UK importer and they told me that there can be a problem with these cranks with pedals with shorter threaded axels such as DMRs or Wellgo - be warned.

Stiff strong, good looking, but that all changed mysteriously on the 4th month which may have been the worst ride of my life (Chain Snapped, Crank Fell off/stripped, Flat tire, stressmark in frame discovered etc.). All this aside, it was the crank that couldn't be fixed, or at least hold for the end of the day. Anyway, I got all of the mess with the left crank arm dealt with, and it held for a month without any drops or jumps(no drops or jumps over 10' for frame purposes), then When I was riding around the neighborhood cruising for chicks, I felt a wobble. I thought it was my right crank arm falling out this time, it wasn't. The pedal had stripped the threads. I had when i finally got the pedal off, I found the pedal was fine, but the crank wasn't. My bike never did shift correctly after installing them per Race Face's instructions...think I'm retarded and installed them wrong, fine...my local bike shop couldn't get them to function properly either. The only way to get them to shift correctly was to leave the BB spacer off (Race Face says to leave it on with my frame's BB shell size). THEN, my crank bolts wouldn't stay tight. still think I'm retarded, fine...the local bike shop couldn't get them to stay put either. My local bike shop handled the warranty call to Race Face and their warranty guy said it was a tolerance issue with the BB so he sent me new cranks only...go figure??? LASTLY, these things creak like crazy. Maybe I'm retarded? Nope...the BB has been removed, cleaned, lubed with grease (Race Face recommedation) or Shimano Lock-Not (bike shop recommendation)...same with the crank arms...I've also removed, cleaned, and lubed the chain ring bolts (all of these areas multiple times). Still think I'm to blame? Every tightening job was performed with a torque wrench and I carefully applied Race Face torque specs. I'm not impressed with the chain rings either...the mechanic at the bike shop said they don't have ramping and that effects efficient shifting also. These are only on because I'm still saving up for a Shimano replacement. I'll never run Race Face cranks or BB again even though I know these are their cheap version.
