An upgraded alloy, drastically re-designed chainrings and patented reinforced pedal interface make these cranks look and perform better than ever before. The Evolve DH is the perfect performance DH crankset for abusive riders on a budget.9 speed, 22/32/44, 175mm arms.

Strengths:
Makes a good paperweight.
Weaknesses:
Poorly designed interface, heavy, makes a lot of noise, bottom bracket does not last, etc.
Bottom Line:
I had these cranks very briefly.
They are HEAVY! I downgraded from Saints to these since I got a deal and I needed money. What a mistake. These cranks are about the same weight as Saints and are not nearly as reliable.
The interface is an interference fit. So everytime the cranks are removed and installed, a bit wears off. Eventually the spindle/crank interface becomes too worn and it will make noise and it will not stay tight.
Unlike the Shimano design, the bearing preload cannot be adjusted independently. You have to fumble with spacers and then torque the bolt.
Since the spindle is attached to the left side, it also makes the setup of a chainguide a bit more time consuming. That's not such a bit deal, but a pain.
I had issues with the pedal inserts creaking as well.
The bottom bracket started feeling very gritty after just 3 months. And this was with proper frame prep.
If you're on a budget and don't ride hard, then these cranks are certainly better than low end square taper/ISIS offerings. But in my experience, they have proven to be unreliable.

These cranks were great for the first 8 months of riding. It was my first time riding a Two-piece crankset and was, at first, very happy with my purchase. As time went by, I too became a victim of the always-loosening-right crank arm.
I tried it all; Locktite, glue, grease, plumbers tape, bees wax, w/e, but it continued to get loose. I will try and get these replaced.
They were ridden under the "normal riding conditions" that the Evolve DH can perform on. They were installed correctly with the correct amount of spacers for the 68mm bottom bracket shell. They started wobbling a little and got progressively worse.
From what i hear the Diabolus cranks undergo the same problem.

They have a small amount of flex. Bashguard that came with it was too skinny for me and small enough to let logs hit my chainguide so i put my E-13 back on.
My choices were these or the '06 Hussefelts with a howitzer BB and i chose this one because of the price, and since it handled Diablo Freeride Park, with the new drops, with no issues i'm happy. I recommend these to any all mountain riders or light duty freeriders.

Deore Componetry.... Basically stock except for above.
Bottom Line:
I swapped this because I torqued the spider by out of the saddle sprints... I'm sure that 5 footer to flat didn't help at all.... neither did dirtjumping. LOL.
I am going to the LBS tomorrow so we'll see how it flows on this bike.
5 flamin chilis for now... until I find something I dislike of course.

tough, absolutely no flex, it can easily take the abuse from smashing against rocks at full speed.
Weaknesses:
cranks creak a lot even after putting on lock tight and cleaning once or twice a month.
These are the best cranks I've ever used. I only paid 65 dollars, compared to the cost of truvativ and other high end race face cranks this was the best deal out there.

Bottom Line:
Ok. I am only 13 years old but I weigh 205lbs so I take a huge toll on the things i use and abuse. I have ridden about 2-4 hours on these after getting it back today. Everything about it is so smooth. I could feel the smallest notches on the old set though they were badly worn. Square spindle too. These are like butter. Barely any flex

Bottom Line:
I am notorious for breaking everything. I am not much of a hucker, but I do handle my own. I was intrigued with the amount of park riders on Raceface in Rye NH. Tried them out and fell in love with them. My bike fits well with AXC, free ride, light downhill, and DJ/skateparks. These cranks are awsome. They are smooth as silk and stiff as like nothing else. Perfectly durable and the bash guard is worth the lost ring. Super light to help balance the weight of the fork. Much lighter than the old Five D's that were there before.

When you buy a race face part you are buying quality. For years race face has been making great products that last and can take a beating. I will have more time to beat this part once the snow is gone. Can't wait. Great crank.

Bottom Line:
My bike was originally set up for more cross country use. As I progressed in skill, I set it up for more aggressive jumping and dropping. These cranks are nice since they aren't too heavy, yet are very strong. the small ring is steel, and the two larger ones are aluminum. The pedal thread insert ensures you won't strip out a pedal when dropping off things. They are an all around nice crank for all your bashing and freeride needs.

Weaknesses:
I had probles to fit othe rings on the crank... you need to buy race face rings! it sucks! But after a little of grinding evething was 100%
Great product, stiff, strong and durable. A little expensive.... 5 star for me!
