Date Reviewed: January 7, 2005
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $240.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:light
nice looking
cheap for carbon crankarms
Weaknesses:spider not exactly machined (wobling chainrings)
don´t matches to 112.5 BB-M950 (old XTR)
Similar Products Used:LX, XT, SBC Strongarm, RF Turbine, Shimano 600 ...
Bike Setup:Bianchi Martini Racing Frame/ Plasma/9.0 Brakes/Mavic CrossRoc UST/Easton Parts
Bottom Line:I have had tow work for certain hours, making the crankarms
match to the BB: The Al spindlehousing is to wide, so that
tightening the arms causes in pressure to the BB, i can´t
turn it even with the crankarms on it. A good metal saw helped i hope it will last. Buying BB with wider axle seems
to be no option because the chainline gonna get very bad.
The wobbling chainrings are not noticeable when riding.

If you get them cheap, are a proper mechanic, don´t weight
to much and love carbon, consider them.

Date Reviewed: November 2, 2004
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $189.00
Purchased At:Local bike shop.
Strengths:Great customer service. Looks cool.
Weaknesses:I tried 3 sets each one was machined so than chain rings appeared to wobble. I then went to Profile, they tried to find one that was strait but could not. They were very helpful but we could not find one that worked. I did not want to wait for them to bring a new shipment in from TIWAIN!!! so I bought an xtr crank.
Similar Products Used:xtr,Race face
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz,xtr,king,hayes
Bottom Line:Very good customer support but they seem to have an issue with them arms right now. I would not write this review because they were so nice, but I dont want someone else to end up with the same problem. Gave them 2 chilis because they really did try to make it right.

Date Reviewed: October 26, 2004
Favorite Trail:Allof'em
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $120.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Light, compatible w/ octalink BB, stiff, look great
Weaknesses:None yet...
Similar Products Used:XTR, Raceface
Bike Setup:NRS AIR, Crossmax, SRAM, carbon this, titanium that
Bottom Line:Thus far in the game, these cranks have been great. They are very stiff (I'm only a buck-fifty though), very light, and asthetically pleasing. I do like the fact that the spider can be changed as well. This feature lets you custom order the 'set so you may utilize rings of your choice and that you may already have. These have taken some rocks to their pedal-ends too, and there is no sign of fraying carbon, delamination, splitting, etc. Octalink compatibility lets you strap 'em to a Shimano BB of your choice, and you can use a mtb bb w/ a mtb spider all summer, them throw on a road bb w/ a road spider in the fall just in time for 'ross season. I like the versatility, and it works for the budget conscious. One crank, two uses! Would I say that they are better than XTR? Maybe not, but they have worked as well for me and it gives riders who want stiffness and light weight a choice other than the Japanese giant. Good price too (I got a pro deal, but even the reg. $$ isn't bad compared to other carbon setups out there). So far, five flaminations. Well, there it is, and remember: that's just my opinion!
