Just fitted the triple ring (24T 32T 42T) XTR M980 Trail crankset, and realised I'm never going to get into the big ring (29" wheels, riding All Mountain). What's the best (light and robust) bashguard to replace the big ring with? Is it a simple swap?Read More »
I've been riding the 980's for years now and love them...has anyone switched from the 980's to the trail 985's? Or more specifically: will the XTR M980 26/38t trail double (effectively a triple chainline...) work OK with a 10-speed XT derailleur? I know Shimano recommends getting an XTR double-specific derailleur, but I don't see why a 10-speed triple won't work. Anybody?Read More »
