Strengths:    great shifting, less chain suck, light, 7075 zicral alloy.

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
I put a 4 arm middle ring on my raceface crank, best chain ring I have used, it shifts as well as the shimano's rings but are more solid, 7075 zicral is stiffer than LX/XT alloy and it is far less expensive than XTR. shifting ramps are well designed. my old race face prodigy chainring was really weak in comparison, lot of chain sucks, weak alloy, 3 broken teeth after 800 km, shifts like sh*t.

great shifts
easy to clean finish
hard surface

a bit sharp tooths

Bottom Line:
Thise rings are great, dispite my getting ripped a bit open in a crash, because the tooths are a bit sharp. The material is very hard, so you don't get these scratches on them, and they are very easy to clean for wasted oil. The only thing is, that you can only get them in silver finish.

Chainring bolt length.

I'm beating my head against the desk because I'm sure I am overanalyzing this. I need new chainring bolts to replace the old rusted garbage ones I have. Spider thickness is .15" (3.8mm) and the chainring I'm buying is 3mm (.125") thick. Total thickness of ~6.8mm to 7mm. How much engagement o ... Read More »

I really really really need a {34 tooth} 9 or 10speed front chainring

A 32 is not tall enough for where I go and how I ride down the hills. I do not want to switch this bike to 1x10 or 1x11 because of the long steady uphills. I have been unable to find a 34 tooth, 104BCD, middle ring. I am currently using a Raceface 9 speed that has been machined down ... Read More »

Changing Specialized Epic WC front chainring is it possible?

Is it possible to change the front chain ring to a double? I keep seeing good deals pop up on these bikes but only the 1x wc versions. I would love to try 1x, but I am concerned that I would want to go to a 2x10 at some point for some races.Read More »

Non spanner single-ring chainring nuts?

I'm trying to rid my crankset of the bashguard that came on it and will sensibly need new, narrower chainring fasteners. Specifically, I'm looking for the nut side that is held by a hex, rather than spanner. I know many will be tempted to mock me for my inability to make a chainring bolt spanner wr ... Read More »
