Favorite Trail:Gooseberry Mesa
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $29.00
Purchased At:Cyclesmith
Strengths:These are great, solid chainrings for singlespeed or single chainring applications. Great buy for the money!
Weaknesses:Not as durable as similar stainless steel chainrings (surly) for mountain biking purposes. These are not designed for shifting with a front derailleur. This is not really a product weakness, as they are not intended for that purpose. There are no ramps or pins to facilitate shifting, and the package is explicit about them being for singlespeed or 5 to 9-speed compatible (meaning no front shifting). Don't make the same mistake as the previous reviewer, as you will be an angry customer due to your ignorance.
Similar Products Used:Surly SS chainrings
Bike Setup:Salsa Juan Solo
Bottom Line:Great chainrings for the money, granted you use them as intended...No front shifting. Perfect for singlespeed or setting up a 1x9 29er (or something similar). Do not purchase these to replace your old chainrings for shifting and you will be happy.

Favorite Trail:All things Winter Park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $36.00
Purchased At:REI
Strengths:Light and cheap. Looks badass at first. Small ring will fit on external bearing style bottom brackets.
Weaknesses:Very crappy alloy. Setup is a bit of a pain. No shifting ramps.
Similar Products Used:Shimano, Truvativ.
Bike Setup:Blur LT with the works...Avid Juicy 5, does anyone really read this section?
Bottom Line:Do not buy this crap! I got both a middle and granny at REI, for about $36 all together...that means cheap. Installed, tuned drive train...had to adjust the front derailleur like crazy just to get it to shift. Then, easy ride in Winter Park and I had nothing but trouble. Rough shifts and nasty clunking and grinding from the front when shifting. Broke a tooth in the first 10 miles of riding. After that NASTY chainsuck whenever shifting to the granny up front under anything close to load. I ditched these and went back to XTs thanks to REIs magical return policy. More expensive but worth it...since they will shift without losing a tooth whenever they bite...kinda like a shark I guess.
