With the introduction of the SRAM XX1 group, every piece in the drivetrain is designed to work together for an efficient, all-mountain ride quality. However, due to the design of the drivetrain, when it's time to replace your chain, you'll need the SRAM PC XX1 HollowPin Chain. Representing the latest breakthrough technology from SRAM, the XX1 chain is as precise as the rest of the group. Designed specifically for the XX1 crank, the chains varied, wide and narrow inner profile fits with the alternating thickness and even numbering of the chain ring. Lightweight and durable, the PC XX1 chain delivers strength and reliability to your drivetrain without compromise. Adding to the superior construction of the chain, SRAM continues the use of the PowerLock link -- making tool-less, on-the-fly chain repair a breeze. In addition to easy installation, the 11-speed PowerLock link is as strong, or stronger, than any other link on the chain, and it won't hinder shift quality in the least. The SRAM PC XX1 HollowPin Chain is only compatible with the XX1 drivetrain. Please note that while the PowerLock installation can be done tool-free, but it's recommended to be used only once due to varied wall thickness required by the 11-speed design. So, ifyou must break your chain for maintenance reasons, a new 11-speed PowerLock link will be required to reassemble it.Note: When installing your need chain, you'll need to first, wrap the chain around the chainring, fitting the chain to the proper alternating teeth before feeding the chain over the largest cog on your cassette and through the derailleur. For hardtail bikes, add two links. For full suspension bikes, add four links.
